The airport is a hub for Qantas, Skytrans and Jetstar Airways making it very easy to book longhaul flights to the area. Palm Cove is about 26 km north of Cairns Airport and is easy to drive to along the Captain Cook Highway. A hire car is essential to explore this more remote area of North Queensland although Palm Cove is small enough to get around on foot.
