Within a few miles is the third largest wetland area in Spain, which attracts an enormous number of bird species, making it a magnificent place to walk.

The glorious climate of L’Escala means that the golf course are open all year round, and apart from other visitors escaping the British winter, you will have the courses much to yourself from October until April.
Many people will know L’Escala due to the archaeological treasure that is the Roman settlement of Ampurias, just a short distance outside the town. The wonderfully preserved mosaics which can still be seen are simply beautiful and really make you think.
When you land in Girona Airport, it is well worth taking a few hours exploring the city. It is a hugely elegant city, centred on a magnificently well preserved medieval old town. The massive carnival in May and the September Jazz Festival are particularly good times to discover Girona, although there are enough great restaurants and fashionable shops to keep you engaged at any time of year!
