Named for the fantastic medieval arches which can still be seen in the centre, Les-Arcs-Sur-Argens is a picturesque rural village in the heart of the Provence region. The cobbled streets in the village centre wind around well-preserved medieval buildings, giving the visitor the feeling that they could have quite literally taken a step back in time. There are several other medieval villages and towns near to Les-Arcs-Sur-Argens which are worth a look, with Frejus being one of the nicest. This town also has some famous Roman ruins including an aqueduct and an amphitheatre, as well as other attractions such as a zoo and a waterpark.
The fabulous seaside resort of Cannes is also an easy 45-minute drive down the motorway, where visitors can mingle with the stars around the classy marina, or relax on the beautiful sandy beach.
Summers are glorious in Les-Arcs-Sur-Argens, regularly reaching more than 25C during the daytime, while winters remain relatively mild, with temperatures of between 5C and 13C. The weather is actually drier in this region outside of the summer months, with spring and autumn being particularly nice weather for many outdoor adventure activities which are on offer in the region.
Nice Airport (NCE) is the nearest international terminal to Les-Arcs-Sur-Argens, and receives flights from the UK daily, including those operated by budget airlines such as Ryanair, bmibaby and easyJet. Car hire (available from the airport) is the most convenient way to reach your Les-Arcs-Sur-Argens self-catering accommodation and is very handy for the duration of your holiday given the village’s rural location.
