Le Diamond is on the southwest coast of Martinique in the eastern Caribbean. It is an overseas department of France and consequently the official language is French, although many locals also speak Creole Martiniquais. As France is part of the EU, the currency used in Martinique is the Euro.

Fort-de-France, the capital of Martinique, is easy to reach by taxi, car or public transport from your holiday rental in Le Diamant. As well as the large port it has a splendid Cathedral, the Fort St Louis and the Palais de Justice. There are many museums to visit displaying the island’s culture, costumes and pre-Columbian history. On the south coast, Saint-Pierre has a harbour, the ruins of the old city and a Volcano Museum with informative displays about the eruption of Mont Pelee in 1902.
