The nearby town of Lahaina has a historic preservation district which is well worth touring. Lahaina is also a shopper’s paradise with many local galleries and craft shops. There is excellent shopping at the Lahaina Cannery Mall which has 50 speciality shops in an air-conditioned setting.
Ulupalakua has a beautiful cattle and horse ranch on the slopes of Haleakala at an elevation of 2,000 feet. Enjoy the fantastic views from the ranch, go horseback riding and enjoy lunch at the Ranch Store and Grill. There is also a tasting room at the nearby Ulupalakua Winery which has an 18-foot long bar made from a single mango tree.
Kaanapali and Maui are well known for enjoying year-round tropical warmth. Temperatures range between 79-84°F (26-29°C) from winter to summer although Maui does have a little rain each month from October to March which falls as occasional showers. The mountainous inland region has heavy rainfall throughout the year.
The main Maui airport to Kaanapali is Kahului airport which receives both inter-island and overseas flights. It is approximately 25 miles from your holiday home in Kaanapali.
Honolulu International airport is on the nearby island of Honolulu so a connecting flight to Maui would be needed.
