Summer breaks in Aldeburgh
The seaside and fishing resort of Aldeburgh continues to enthral throngs of holidaymakers. Visit the town’s Moot Hall or Maggi Hambling’s striking postmodern sculpture, ‘Scallop’ on its stunning beach. As Benjamin Britten’s centenary nears, the town hosts a number of art festivals. Nearby Snape Maltings is home to the Aldeburgh Festival in June, as well as Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival held at the end of September. Snake around Martello Tower, before purchasing fresh fish sold on the beach or sampling some of Suffolk’s finest fish and chips in one of its many charming eateries.
