DebenSuffolk’s pristine coastline, a haven for city dwellers and families during the warmer seasons, enjoys a strong stream of international tourism. Vibrant beach huts, soft pebble seashores, and unspoiled bays characterise this majestic corner of England. Discover the county’s exquisite towns scattered on the stretch of coastline, such as Aldeburgh, and the smaller villages of Dunwich. Plan a diverse itinerary and enjoy the marked contrast between the coastline’s stunning coastal paths and striking heritage. Aldeburgh’s remarkable connection with the composer Benjamin Britten, for example, secures its prominence as a cultural hub. Visit the Aldeburgh Poetry Festival or the town’s music festivals, having explored the town’s gorgeous shoreline. Other Suffolk festivals include the celebrated Latitude Festival, with its whimsical setting and colourful sheep, and Glemham Hall’s FolkEast. Combine a day at one of Suffolk’s dynamic festivals with a visit to a Suffolk fortress, such as Orford Castle or Framlingham Castle. Travel inland and explore the ornate Ickworth estate or Melford Hall, before discovering St Olaves’s Priory. Alternatively, see the seventh century Anglo-Saxon settlements at the site of the Sutton Hoo ship burial. In HomeAway accommodation, recreate a home from home experience in one of East Anglia’s charming coastal destinations.
