The Winter Music Conference is a must for all electronic music lovers. Originally aimed largely at music professionals, the Winter Music Conference was first held in 1985, but has blossomed into a magnificent week-long celebration of electronic music, attracting not just professionals, but fans from all over the world to Miami. With over 500 events occurring along South Beach and Downtown Miami, the Winter Music Conference is a completely unique event, and one which you simply have to experience, whether you live in Florida or are travelling. Many of those that spend their summer in Ibiza flock to Miami in March to start the season, find out what is to come for a long summer of dance music.
The Winter Music Festival, or WMC as it is known, hosts some 30,000 people each year, a huge proportion of which travel from Europe, and culminates in the famous Dance Music Awards at the end of the week. Although the WMC is a celebration of all things electronic, for dance-heads, this is the place to be. All week, the world’s best DJs play through the night, and in the balmy Miami evenings, the whole of Downtown becomes a clubbers paradise.
