Not to be confused with the site of the famous tennis tournament, Indian Wells, Florida is a holiday rental home community that has a huge attraction all of its own nearby – Walt Disney World. There are several such communities in the Kissimmee area, but Indian Wells is arguably the closest of them all – meaning you can drive to Walt Disney World within just five minutes of leaving your holiday accommodation.
Hotel accommodation in and around the Disney area can be expensive and cramped, especially if you are travelling with one or more young children. The alternative is to stay in rental accommodation in a nearby resort, such as Indian Wells, meaning you can have all of the comforts of home (often including a swimming pool), and be just a few minutes away from all of the theme parks that Disney has to offer.
One of the best things about this particular resort is the peacefulness of the surroundings. Life within the Disney complex can be hectic and noisy, but when returning to your Indian Wells holiday home you will be able to escape the chaos and re-charge your batteries amongst the setting of pine trees and lakes – ready to do it all over again tomorrow!
The Indian Wells resort itself has plenty to offer, including a good selection of shops, a large supermarket and several bars, and the nearby Highway 192 complex, which has a variety of both daytime and evening entertainment attractions, including a stretch of restaurants almost one mile long.
If you manage to drag yourself away from the lure of Disney, you will find that the surrounding Kissimmee area also has plenty to offer. Lake Kissimmee State Park is a great place for walking, hiking and generally getting out into the countryside, or if you prefer a gentler form of exercise you will be happy to discover a huge number of high quality golf courses within just a small radius of your self-catering accommodation in Indian Wells.
Indian Wells and the surrounding area of Kissimmee receive a typical Florida climate of hot (and sometimes wet) summers and cooler, drier winters. The hottest months in which to visit are July and August, and the coldest are January and February. Bear in mind that visiting out of season often gets you reduced rate accommodation and means less queuing time for Disney attractions.
Orlando Airport (MCO) is the most convenient destination to fly to, and is located just 15 miles from Indian Wells, Florida. Many UK-based operators make the journey every day, and it pays to search around for the best deal. Transport links from Orlando to Indian Wells are also good. Kissimmee has its own airport, but is only a few miles nearer your accommodation than Indian Wells.
