Incisa is one of the quietest villages in one of the most rural areas of Tuscany – so it is little surprise that relaxation is the order of the day for many that choose it as their holiday rental base. The beauty of it all is that once you have re-charged your batteries you will find that the famous city of Florence is literally on your doorstep. The main challenge is simply fitting it all in to just a week or two of vacation time.
'Relax – your in Incisa' could almost be the village's motto, such is the serene atmosphere that greets you as soon as you arrive within its territories. Incisa holiday rental villas are the perfect place in which to do this, providing you with all the comforts you need to relax in Tuscan paradise.
The superb, unspoilt countryside that surrounds Incisa is perfect for days of walking and exploring, and will really get you into the true Tuscan spirit. One of the most important local buildings to visit is the Church of St Alexander, which houses works by renowned local painter Andrea di Giusto.
Incisa (often known under its full name of Incisa in Val d'Arno) has a reasonable selection of amenities and is fine for the basics. If you are seeking somewhere for that special evening meal or to stock up food supplies for the duration of your stay, however, you may be best advised to take the short journey into nearby Figline Valdarno.
If you decide that you want to take a day trip to a more active location, you can simply hop in the car and take your pick from all that Tuscany has to offer. Reggello (14km) is the most popular destination in the Valdarno Superiore region, mainly due to its excellent market and prominent position. Heading outside of the region, Florence is just 29km away, and has a bevy of historical and modern attractions that will keep family members of all ages happy for days on end.
Being so close to Florence, Incisa has largely the same climate as the famous city of art and architecture. Average daily high temperatures increase steadily from 10C to 30C between January and August, before reducing sharply towards the end of the year. The end of the year is also the wettest period, but if you are prepared to brave the inevitable showers you may be able to grab yourself an accommodation bargain during these months.
Tuscany has two main airports, but Florence Peretola (FLR) is the closest to Incisa. After a two hour flight from the UK you will be able to get to your Incisa self-catering accommodation in under half an hour, as the locations are just 44km apart. Meridiana offer some of the cheapest flights between Britain and Florence.
