Icod de los Vinos has some interesting buildings including the Church of San Marcos. Near the church is the ancient dragon tree, which is said to be thousands of years old. Cueva del Viento is thought to be the largest volcanic cave in the world and is well worth a visit. A trip to Tenerife wouldn’t be complete without an excursion to Mount Teide, which is arguably the island’s most famous landmark. There are a number of interesting places to visit on the island including several wildlife parks and zoos. Tenerife also boasts numerous museums and historic buildings. There are plenty of scenic views, parks and gardens to be enjoyed on the island including La Caldera del Rey, which is a farm surrounded by volcanic mountains, forests and canyons.

Travel to Icod de los Vinos, Canary Islands

Tenerife North Airport (TFN) is approximately a 45 minute drive from Icod de los Vinos and has flights to and from cities on the Spanish mainland and other Canary Islands as well as Dusseldorf and Nuremburg in Germany and Helsinki in Finland. Visitors from other European destinations will need to fly to Tenerife South Airport (TFS), which has flights to and from major cities including Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Geneva, London, Moscow, Paris and Rome amongst others. This airport is approximately an hour and a quarter's drive to Icod de los Vinos. Car rental firms are represented at both airports and there are taxis available outside the terminal buildings.
