Haiku is a plantation town on the north coast of Maui, Hawaii’s second largest island. The town is a major centre of the pineapple production and has many cowboy ranches, locally called “paniolo”. Once you have bought your fill of homemade produce, clothing and pottery, head for Kula Lodge. There are splendid views across the west of the island from the garden terrace which also has a wood burning pizza oven. Enjoy the exotic flower garden with a drink or dinner.
Haiku has beautiful warm temperatures all year round ranging from 79-84°F (26-29°C). Popular with winter visitors, it has a little rain each month from October to March which keeps the island lush and green. The mountainous inland region has heavy rainfall throughout the year.
The main Maui airport close to your holiday home in Haiku is Kahului airport which receives both inter-island and overseas flights. It is approximately 12 miles from Haiku.
Honolulu International airport is on the nearby island of Honolulu so a connecting flight to Kahului, Maui would be needed.
