Diklo is an elite summer tourist resort to the north-west of Zadar, which itself is a premier tourist destination on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast. Diklo has good public transport links to Zadar, so the use of a car is not necessary to enjoy the area to its fullest.
Although the vast majority of visitors to Diklo use the town as a base for visiting Zadar, there are also several other places of interest in the vicinity. These include the nearby islands of the Zadar Archipelago, such as Ugljan, Pasman and Dugi Otok, which all boast beautiful, unspoilt scenery. Ferries to these islands leave from Zadar on a regular basis.
A large part of the recent tourist influx to Dalmatia can be put down the climate. Summer temperatures frequently reach above 30C, and 35C is not uncommon during July and August. Spring and autumn are also extremely warm, and it is usually possible to swim in the waters any time from June to October.
