The village has fiestas and carnivals throughout the year celebrating different saints. A great fiesta to observe if you’re renting an apartment or villa in Canillas de Aceituno in early September is “Candelaria” (bonfire night).
Canillas de Aceituno is a great base from which you can explore the Costa del Sol. Malaga is only 1 hour away and has great beaches and entertainment. Torre del Mar is slightly closer and can be reached via the scenic Mudejar Route.
