Make a holiday rental home or villa in Bussac, France your home away from home.
Bussac is the name of several communes in France, but this article refers to a tiny settlement of just 322 people, in the Dordogne
The main thing to do in Bussac is relax. The village is almost made for a holiday of lazy days in the sun, with great weather during summer months, beautiful surrounding countryside and some lovingly-maintained and comfortable holiday rental accommodation all adding to the tranquillity, - ideal for recharging the batteries and getting away from it all.
The area around Bussac consists largely of dense woodland, with a series of nature trails winding their way through the trees and providing great walking, hiking, cycling and horse riding opportunities. A number of lakes are also found in the surrounding area, and offer water-related activities such as swimming, fishing and canoeing.
Bars, shops, restaurants and small supermarkets are also within close reach of Bussac, and the largely tourist-free nature of the region means that these are ideal places in which to chat with the natives and practice your French. Although busy tourist eateries and chain restaurants will not be found in this part of the country, an enjoyable meal consisting of fresh local produce is always readily available.
Despite Bussac enjoying a rural location, the hamlet can still be used as a base for exploring some of the more-visited destinations in each direction. Brantome is one such destination, located just 15km to the north and being the home of a Benedictine abbey, pre-historic caves and some excellent restaurants. Perigeux, 17km to the south-east, is also a must for a day trip.
