As well as its world renowned ski slopes it hosts many festivals and events including the Sundance Film Festival. The city has a municipal golf course for those wanting to play a round in this scenic area. The Jordanelle State Park Reservoir is nearby and offers two recreation areas at Hailstone and Rock Cliff. Visitors can go boating, swimming and fishing for trout, bass and perch. The main attraction in Salt Lake City is Temple Square which has an enormous Temple and Tabernacle which are the headquarters of the Mormon Church. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir performs regularly. Other attractions in the city include Beehive House, a National Historic Landmark with period furnishings, and the Red Butte Gardens with landscaped grounds and many beautiful bronze statues by Robert Wick. The Utah State Capitol building is also worth touring.
The weather in Bear Hollow Village is hot and dry in summer and very cold and snowy in winter. Temperatures reach an average 33°C (92°F) in July and drop to -2°C (28°F) during the day in January and -7°C (19°F) at night. The area has low rainfall in summer with slightly more precipitation in winter, falling as snow on the mountains.
The nearest airport serving Bear Hollow Village is Salt Lake City International (SLC) airport which is 32 miles away. A hire car is the best way to reach this premier ski resort, and the drive along the I-80 takes about 40 minutes.
