Set in the southwest portion of the state of Vermont, the Stratton and Bromley Ski areas are two of the largest winter sport destinations in the region. Visiting vacation rentals in the Stratton and Bromley ski areas you’ll have a fantastic wealth of runs and facilities, and a host of activities to enjoy in both summer and winter.
Starting with Stratton, which is one of the premier resorts in Vermont – there’s a total of 92 trails here, covering 600 acres. The resort is complemented by extensive snowmaking facilities. Almost half of the ski trails here would suit newcomers to the sport, while the resort is supported by fourteen ski lifts, with a large total capacity. The winter fun doesn’t end with skiing if you’re visiting vacation accommodation in the Stratton ski area; there are snowmobile rides for kids, snowtubing, nighttime snowmobile trips, dog-sled tours and ice-skating. Meanwhile, if you’re at the resort in the summer months there’s fantastic terrain for hiking and mountain biking. Stratton is also home to a 27-hole golf club, comprising three different nine-hole courses.
Accommodation in the Bromley ski area is set in and near another of the state’s top ski destinations. A unique feature of this mountain is that it’s found along the route of the famous Appalachian Trail, while there are around 180 skiable acres here, offering 42 different runs, suiting both novice and expert skiers. There are four terrain parks at the resort, which provide an excellent environment for freestyle snowboarders. A range of family activities are also on offer, with cross-country skiing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, snowmobile rides and dog-sled tours.
Close to self-catering vacation rentals in the Stratton and Bromley ski areas, the Green Mountain National Forest is home to a large range of wildlife, with moose, deer, beavers and black bears. In the summer you could make for the Somerset Reservoir, which is surrounded by forest and would be an ideal destination for fishing enthusiasts, with stocks of pike, bass and rainbow trout.
Due to the high elevation there’s plenty of wintry weather from around November to March around vacation accommodation in the Stratton and Bromley ski areas. At Stratton Mountain there’s 180 inches of snowfall a year. Summers are pleasantly warm here and ideal for outdoor fun.
