Holidaymakers looking for a fun filled resort in the western side of the United States might like to visit Park City. Located in Utah this is a great place to visit with many interesting things to do and see. Perhaps the best way to see Park City is by taking a hot air balloon ride. There are several lakes and rivers in the area that are popular spots for fishing as well as various watersports. There is a good choice of bars and restaurants with numerous places serving American and Mexican fare as well as other cuisine from around the world. Self catering holidaymakers can purchase food and drinks from local a couple of grocery stores in the area. Park City has many other shops selling antiques, gifts and souvenirs amongst other things.
Park City has several galleries featuring the work of local artists as well as museums such as the Park City Museum and George Eccles Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum. Tourists can learn more about the history of the area by taking one of the tours offered around Park City. Visitors can enjoy a good time at one of the numerous arts centers and theatres such as the Egyptian Theatre Company. Salt Lake City is only 36 miles away and has many more museums and historic buildings.
Utah can experience great variations in temperature with cold winters and hot summers. The warmest month of the year is July with average highs of 92 degrees Fahrenheit. January is the coldest month with average highs of 36 and lows of 19 degrees Fahrenheit. This area can also see significant snowfall in the winter months with as much as 15 inches on average in January. Rainfall is fairly evenly distributed through the rest of the year with about 2.1 inches on average in April.
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is approximately 37 miles from Park City and has flights to and from many other U.S cities. These include Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and Washington amongst others. There are flights to some cities outside the U.S such as Calgary, Mexico City, Paris and Vancouver. Car rental facilities are located on the ground floor of the short-term parking garage directly across from the terminal buildings.
