South-eastern Menorca is known as the best area for snorkelling and scuba-diving in Menorca. There are some magnificent diving schools and dive sites in Binibeca, Punta Prima and S’Algar. The majority of water sports are also easy to enjoy, with equipment hire or lessons available in most disciplines available.
The beaches are of course a huge attraction in South and East Menorca. There is a mix of wide, sweeping tourist beaches backed by vibrant bar filled promenades, with parasols and water sport facilities, and there are the small picturesque and almost private cove beaches to be found amongst the rock outcrops. Inland, the walking and cycling options are magnificent. There are a large number of marked trails and cycle hire is common.
Menorca’s summer lasts from June until September, with average temperatures during the day reaching 30˚C. Winter is a sensational time to rent a Menorca holiday villa for active holidays away from the beaches. Average daily temperatures hover around 10˚C.
The only international airport in Menorca is the Aeropuerto de Menorca, 5km south of Mahon. This makes it very easy to reach your South or East Menorca holiday villa from the UK, and flights are only around 2 hours from most UK airports.
