A delightful, well cared for home, situated in an attractive & quiet town area ,yet only a 10min walk either to the magnificent long white sandy beach of Alcudia, or to restaurants, bars, and shopping. Casa Helena has a very private 500sq m garden, with a lovely 8x4 swimming pool, 2 outdoor terraces for dining 'al fresco' and lawn areas, bordered with Mediterranean cypress trees, colorful bougainvillea and hibiscus. The house has an open plan living and dining area, a fully appointed, recently renovated kitchen, including dishwasher, gas hob, electric fan oven, microwave and osmosis filtered drinking water (no need to buy bottled water!). The main bedroom is equipped with a queen size double bed and has an ensuite bathroom with a hydromassage bath. The other 2 bedrooms each have 2 single beds, and share the 2nd bathroom. The whole house is tastefully decorated, well appointed and comfortably furnished.

Family fun!: Casa Helena is well situated for easy access to many different venues which provide entertainment for all the family - mums and dads included! Just 5min walk away is the hydropark, with water slides and rides for a great way to spend the day, or afternoon. Also very close, is a track for go-cart enthusiasts. For evening entertainment, the family fun pubs such as Cheers, or Woody Woodpeckers, are also only a 5 min. stroll away. There is a huge variety of restaurants - including Spanish, English, International, Chinese, Indian, Italian and Scandinavian cuisine, within easy walking distance (5 -10 min), so you can enjoy a wine or 3 without having to worry about driving home. The beautiful beach of Alcudia, as mentioned, is only a 10 min. easy stroll, and also includes activities such as paddle boats, banana boat rides, parachuting ( by boat), beach volleyball, windsurf -- or just simply building sandcastles! And to tour the town, a 4 wheel bicycle cart for all to enjoy!

Chill out!: For those looking for a quiet and relaxed holiday, Casa Helena is also very suitable, because although being close to the beach and all amenities, it is in a very quiet and secluded situation. There are no nearby restaurants, bars or hotels, so therefore no unwanted noisy music or people. Dining at home is also an attractive option -- there is a lovely tropical wood dining table on the terrace, with seating for up to 8 people -- and to linger over a meal on a warm Mediterranean night,overlooking the lit up pool, really is the ultimate chill out experience! The main port area of Puerto Alcudia is a pleasant 20min walk from Casa Helena around the back of the beach -( there is also a frequent bus service.) Here you will find the boat marina, and the 'paseo', a large strolling area to enjoy the view of the harbour, or stop for a refreshment or a meal at one of the many outdoor cafes and restaurants. There are also small paved streets, well known for their Spanish 'tapas' bars!

Puerto Alcudia is a very popular summer holiday resort, its main attraction being the 10km long white, sandy beach, with crystal clear water and shallow shoreline, making it very safe for children. It is an ideal destination for families, with a large variety of outdoor activities available. The old town of Alcudia is 2km away- an interesting historic centre, with paved streets enclosed within 800 yr old Roman walls, which look stunning when lit up at night! Market day is held twice a week. A frequent bus service connects to neighboring resort towns, Ca´n Picafort (8km east) and Puerto Pollensa (5km west).On the edge of Puerto Alcudia is the nature reserve, 'Albufera' - home to a variety of wild birdlife. On the peninsula dividing the bays of Alcudia and Pollensa, there are quiet coves and beaches, such as Mal Pas, SÍllot, and Alcanada, and higher up, La Victoria and Sa Talaia, offering breathtaking views over the both bays and the mountains. In general, it is a very beautiful area.

Bedroom 2. A cheerful , sunny room, with windows opening out onto the garden and pool area. It is prettily furnished with 2 single beds, a shared bedside cabinet, and a built in wardrobe. Bedroom 3. This room faces the front garden area, with its cool, green palm trees, for a relaxing view. It is nicely furnished with 2 single beds, 2 bedside cabinets and a built in wardrobe.

Notes: The dining table inside seats 6 to 8 people. On the intimate side terrace outside, there is another table with 2 benches and 2 chairs which also seats up to 8 people. Also on this terrace, which flows from the living area, is a 2 seater cane sofa, and 2 individual cane armchairs. There is another terrace at the back of the house, overlooking the pool, which has a low, round glass table, and 2 director style chairs, plus 2 reclining wooden deck chairs ( with cushions), providing seating for 4. A portable charcoal BBQ is provided, for use in the garden area. Bring your own pc/netbook etc, to connect to wireless broadband for free. There is also a landline telephone for making local calls. Calls can be received, but not made to, international and mobile phones.

A great holiday home

We had a great, relaxing holiday in this excellent villa. It is appointed to a very high standard and the private garden and pool are truly first class. We thoroughly enjoyed using the two different seating areas which meant you could always find either a sunny or cooler shady place depending on your preference.

We enjoyed great communication from Desna both before and during our stay and Jaime next door was extremely helpful with local advice etc.

The garden and pool area are private, and provide both ample sun and plenty of shade - for when a respite is needed from the hot Mediterranean sunshine!

Just returned from our 2 week holiday at the Casa Helena, having done a variety of Villa holiday's this is one that was one of the most relaxing to date. The accomodation was accurate and the pictures depicted exactly what you get! The property was clean and tidy and there was far more provided by Desna for your convenience than you would normally expect ie., Beach towels, 2 good hairdryers, a good variety of spices, tea bags, cling film, baking foil, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls. napkins and so the list goes on!!!!

Excellent position, quiet but close to the beach and Port within a 10/15 min walk.

Would not hesitate to go back asap.
Owner's Response: Relaxing holidays are what Casa Helena is all about! With an inviting pool at home, and the lovely beach of Puerto Alcudia just a short stroll away - this could be your most difficult holiday decision - pool or beach! But of course, most guests combine the both, and manage to fit in the many other attractions that this great family resort offers! And I am so glad that Casa Helena continues to be a popular base from which to enjoy it all!
The basic provisions in the kitchen, such as foil, cling, spices etc, as this appreciative reviewer has mentioned, are a touch of practicality on my part - they are things we all use a little of, so rather than each family having to purchase these items, I just keep them 'rolling on'!

FANTASTIC VILLA, AMAZING HOLIDAY

Jeffs Family, two adults and two children (9 and 6 years old)

Just got back from our week at Casa Helena and we are already trying to work out when we can go back.
The Villa is outstanding, spacious with lovely furnishings the pool was perfect and our two children were in it so much I thought they may grow gills and fins!
I have rented villas/cottages in the past both in the UK and abroad and Casa Helena is without a doubt one of the best.
What was so helpful was there was no need to instantly find a supermarket to grab the essentials - Desna has provided tea, coffee, milk, even washing up liquid and a chilled bottle of Cava - a lovely touch :-)
Location was also perfect, very quiet and secluded, but only a 10 minute meander to the gorgeous white sandy beach and a further 10 minutes strolling along the beach to get to the Marina.
This villa has everything and more and I can't wait to go back.
Owner's Response: As the owner, I am always delighted when a family enjoys their holiday at Casa Helena as much as this family have! The convenient location of the property makes it very easy for walking to the beach, restaurants, activities and shopping - so getting out and about for families with children is not a problem! Indeed, the only problem might be persuading the children to get out of the pool!!
Basic provisions are supplied, and as in the case of this review, usually appreciated.
Provisions include: tea, coffee, coffee filters, sugar, milk, salt and pepper, various spices, washing up liquid, vitro ceramic cleaning liquid, dishwasher tablets, kitchen paper towels, serviettes, rubbish bags, toilet paper, hand soap, mosquito plug-ins and tablets, insect spray - and yes - a bottle of chilled cava as your welcome to Casa Helena!
It will be my pleasure to welcome back this lovely family, and to welcome all other holiday makers to this popular property as a 'home away from home' base for the fantastic resort of Puerto Alcudia!

We were the 1st guests of the season and didnt know quite what to expect not having booked a private residence on the internet before. However we were very quickly made felt at home by the owner, Desna who made sure we had all we needed,especially for a family of 3 children with ages from 1 to 11 to 17.Even if the pool was a little bit cold at the early stage in the season it did not stop our daughter from braving the conditions, at least for a day or two. The Casa is excellently maintained with all modern features as well as a homely character and is located in a quiet area with a private atmosphere.Desna provided plenty of useful advice on local amenities and interests. We hired a car for a few days and did some touring but there was plenty within walking distance including the excellent beach.
All in all we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the Casa.

Traumhafter Urlaub in genialem Haus

Wir (2 Pärchen, eines mit 2 kleinen Kindern) verbrachten 2 herrliche Wochen in der Casa Helena.
Das Haus ist super gelegen. In wenigen Minuten ist man am Strand. Genügend Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in Laufnähe. Wir haben kein Auto gemietet, stattdessen Fahrräder für 2 Wochen. Damit ist man herrlich flexibel und kann Alcudia und Umgebung wunderbar erkunden. Eigentlich hatten wir vor, viele Ausflüge zu unternehmen, aber zuhause in unserer Casa Helena war es so schön, dass wir eigentlich den ganzen Tag am eigenen (vor neugierigen Blicken geschützten) Pool und auf den herrlichen Terrassen verbrachten.
Das Häuschen ist liebevoll und bis ins letzte Detail durchdacht eingerichtet. Alles ist vorhanden. Urlaub wie im eigenen Ferienhaus.
Alles ist top gepflegt und sehr sauber. Zur Halbzeit am Samstag kam eine Reinigungskraft, die auch die Betten neu überzog. Keine Selbstverständlichkeit in einem Ferienhaus...
Leider hatten wir Probleme mit dem Transferanbieter zum Flughafen. Hierbei hat uns die Hauseigentümerin Desna super unterstützt und uns sehr geholfen. Nochmals vielen Dank dafür.

I am also grateful to have a very efficient team to keep the house, gardens and pool in tip top condition - especially as I am not in Mallorca all the time.
Renting a bike is a fantastic way to get around. It is all flat terrain around the Alcudia area, and you can get around surprisingly quickly! A lovely trip is to bike around the Bay of Pollensa over to Puerto Pollensa (approx. 5 kms). There is a nice wide bicycle path, and you follow the coastline, so marvellous views and fresh sea air all the way!
I was more than happy to help this family with the less than satisfactory service they encountered with the transfer company they had booked. It was the only negative experience they had on their holiday. As a direct result of this, I will no longer be recommending this transfer company to future guests.
