Mallorca's finest resort, the beautiful Puerto Pollensa combines fine beaches, idyllic scenery and a laid back atmosphere native to this part of northern Mallorca. The town of Pollensa, the original settlement from which Puerto Pollensa grew, is a stunning medieval town just inland from the coast. A Puerto Pollensa apartment or holiday villa gives access to both the beaches and the historic sites and bustling Sunday market in Pollensa town. Pollensa manages to combine the sea, mountains, culture and sport. Pollensa is a beautiful resort, and can boast the highest percentage of return visits in Europe.
The whole of Mallorca is within 75 miles of a holiday rental in Pollensa, so the whole of the island is open to investigate. However, most of those visiting Pollensa find very little reason to travel far, as Pollensa is a magnificent spot to relax and enjoy the beaches and slow lifestyle.
The Roman town of Pollensa is a few miles inland from Puerto Pollensa, and is largely untouched by tourism. Some of the original architecture has remained, and the church of Nostra Senyora dels Angels on the Placa Major is certainly worth seeing. The peace of the town is only broken by the bustling Sunday morning market.
A Puerto Pollensa holiday is an ideal holiday for sailing, scuba diving, and snorkelling, although if you don’t fancy getting wet, the glass-bottomed boat trips from Pollensa Marina are sensational.
For the active holidaymaker in Pollensa, there are a range of golf courses, tennis courts, and many water sports to pick from. The proximity of the Boquer Mountains to many of the apartments in Puerto Pollensa means that walking and cycle touring are extremely popular activities.
Pollensa apartments are hugely popular with families, and villas in Pollenca provide the flexibility and privacy needed for a fantastically varied holiday which a Pollensa hotel could simply never provide. The nightlife in Puerto Pollensa is laid back and not designed for the 18-30 holiday mentality.
Mallorca has a magnificent climate, where summer temperatures average 25°C, and winters remain mild, with daily temperatures of around 11°C.
Flights to Palma Airport (PMI) leave from Aberdeen (ABZ), Belfast (BFS), Birmingham (BHX), Bournemouth (BOH), Bristol (BRS), Cardiff (CWL), Exeter (EXT), Liverpool (LPL), London, Manchester (MAN), Newcastle (NCL) and many others, so there are plenty of options to travel to a villa in Pollensa.
