OUTSTANDING PORT AND SEA-VIEW HOUSE IN THE HEART OF IBIZA OLD TOWN

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Ibiza Town

Three storied house in excellent condition, fully equiped, ideal for 2-4 persons

Constructed by the renowned architect E.Broner, the house is situated in the prominent and genuine area of Sa Penya and is at stone throw distance from the nightlife and the old market, the heart of Ibiza.

The house boasts of an outstanding view at 360°of the sea, the entire port, and the ramparts of the old city Dalt Vila from its terrace. 1st floor: Spacious living and dining room with a fireplace, sofa-bed for two people and a French window with a glimpse of the port. Fully equipped kitchen with oven-gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher.

2nd floor: Bedroom with twin beds, a study table and spacious cupboard. Big glass windows in this room offer a view of the port. Air-condition. Modern bathroom with bathtub, WC, and washbasin.

3rd floor: Big sun-kissed terrace, partially shaded, with a fantastic view. Small attic with window, convertible in a sleeping arrangement for one person with direct access to terrace.

Information abpout Sa Penya area (1): You have in mind to stay in Casapenya, the house particularly pleasant to live in, located in Sa Penya area, in the district which in 1999 was declared by Unesco as World Heritage : Let me provide you with some information about that area.

The famous architect Ervin Broner who designed Casapenya at the end of the sixties brought the most important twentieth-century contribution to the whole island’s architectural heritage. But he selected the most genuine place of the island, Sa Penya, for building his own house and several others, because of its original and rare atmosphere.

Information about Sa Penya area (2): In that unique ensemble of nowhere-to-find architecture made of narrow streets, red-roofed terraces, white facades kissed by the sun, you will see a people diversity of foreigners spending holiday, and also original gipsy families living mainly on the street and some times more concerned with playing music and discussing than going to work or cleaning in front of their doors : this “authenticity” might give you a strange and strong first impression, when you arrive in that area and in the street where Casapenya is located.

Information about Sa Penya area (3): If some might be surprised by the street condition (rental rates are low for such a house to compensate the poor condition of the street waiting for the municipality to proceed to the necessary work) , entering Casapenya will let you feel home in a completely different world. Moreover, staying on top of Sa Penya presents a hudge advantage : you can’t be closer to the “epicenter” of the hot, boiling and amusing life of this energetic city. Within really two-minute-walk you can reach the old market , tens of new-wave boutiques, restaurants, most frequent visited bars. But maybe you might also want to seat in a long chair on the Casapenya’s panoramic terrace, observing the port, the sea and the ramparts of the ancient fortress, hearing no noise from the down town bustling streets.

The owner.

Amazing Experience

I stayed at Casa De Penya in Aug. 2009 and it was amazing. The home is immaculate and the pictures displayed do not do it any justice. It is more beautiful in person. It is large enough for 4 people, immaculately clean, airy and very spacious. There is a dishwasher, clothes washer, fully equipped kitchen and air conditioner. The roof top terrace is an additional perk. The view is breathtaking and unforgettable.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Rebecca (a woman who works for the owner) who showed us the residence, gave us the keys and was accommodating to any need we had. She was very helpful and pleasant to communicate with. The location was a prime location with all of your needs met a stone throw away. The beaches were an approx 5-10 minute cab ride and restaurants were located everywhere you looked. The cobbled streets were beautiful but be careful if wearing high heels girls.. Make sure they are rubber soled. (my suggestion, flats or sneakers) Being a city girl at heart I tossed mine back in the suitcase and wore flip-flops.. Yes, even to the clubs…
Ibiza is very relaxed and beautiful. I would highly recommend this home as a rental. I cannot wait to return next year. Thank you so much for an unforgettable vacation!!!!!

Great place, good location, with amazing views

I would definitely recommend staying at this place! The apartment is amazing - we were 3 friends, and we all found it really spacious and bright, with amazing views. The roof terrace is fabulous - it really catches the sun all day and is great to chill out on. The owner and the agent who manages it in Ibiza are very friendly - the agent went out of her way to offer us good service and accommodate us as our flight times were quite inconvenient.

The location is also good - it's right by the port so good for access into the heart of Ibiza town, with many lovely restaurants, cafes and shops nearby in the ancient city. I think the person in the other review may have been put off by the neighbours, but they are all fine: mostly all families with young children. We were 3 girls and never felt scared or initimidated! I would definitely go back and stay again.
Owner's Response: Dear client,
Yes, you definitly “got the point “ with that review.
With few words you have depicted exactly what my wife and I felt when purchasing and restoring that house fifteen years ago. Every time we stay in it it is again the same strong impression with regards to the special architecture of the house, its amazing 360°view terrace, the specific neighboourhood and the specail Ibiza atmosphere.
Your right words about the “other”review is the best answer to a long untruth or exagerated list I didn’t want to elaborate about in order not to upset that person probably worried prior to her surgery operation.
Thank you for having understood and posted exactly what the townhouse Casapenya is.
Sincerly you will be the most welcome along with “special conditions” any time you wish to come back.

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO RELAX OR SLEEP

  • 1 out of 5
  • Review Submitted: 26-Jan-2011
  • Date of Stay: Oct 2010
I rented this house after the end of the Ibiza party season.I knew that things would be quiet and needed a place to rest before having major surgery. I read the info on the site but was not prepared for the rubbish, the SMELL, especially of Marijuana clouds that I had to pass through, and the level of noise.
The street is quite narrow so to get to the front door, you have to negotiate many people completely blocking the way whilst sitting on their chairs, I was made to feel pretty unwelcome to say the least and some wouldn’t move at all so I had to clamber over legs. Very intimidating.
When being taken to the property by a friendly girl who works for the owners.I
was told they don’t like people to arrive via certain routes because of the levels of rubbish left in those streets so she has to take them a slightly longer route. On several occasions I had to ask the gypsies next door to move their chairs or untie their dog from the security grill on the door. Again, very intimidating.
The levels of noise were the most stressful thing though. It was constant except for an hour or two after lunch. Shouting and screaming right outside the door. Closing the door didn’t help. I tried sleeping in the bedroom, living room – even on the roof terrace. You couldn’t escape it even with earplugs in. By 7.30 am I had enough.
I called the girl who had brought me to the house and told her I couldn’t stay here as,
apart from everything else, it was impossible to sleep. She helped me find alternative accommodation. Then I contacted the owner. I told them it was not suitable accommodation for rest and relaxation/sleep/solitary travellers, and it should have been mentioned in the info on the site.
I was told that if I had wanted a place where I could sleep that I should have asked when booking and that it was Ibiza and I should have known it would be noisy. At this point I understood why, when I was booking the property, they wouldn’t give me the address until I had paid the deposit. I do know that other clients had taken one look at the street and refused to stay or pay the balance of the rental. Sadly, I took a chance and paid dearly for it. I was refunded 80% of one days rental and they think I should be grateful. WHAT A RIP OFF!
Many of the locals don’t like to walk through this street, they think its dangerous. I took some videos that I will post on you tube of my experience called Ibiza House(3). Party animals – Yes.Everyone else – NO You have been warned

A perfect stay

  • 5 out of 5
  • Review Submitted: 10-Mar-2009
  • Date of Stay: Sep 2008
Dear all !
I would like to join also my comments about my beautiful stay in September 2008 in Ibiza.
I was touched by the comment just before and couldn’t leave it without an answer. As I’m looking forward to return to stay at this house and already in contact with the house-owner discussing my future stay in this lovely propriety.
I don’t understand what it means “house is OK”. The house is perfect! The terrace is perfect, the room and the living-room is perfect! The equipment works, the cleaning is done and everything was clean and prepared for our arrival.
As for the people outside – it takes 30 seconds to cross the street and you don’t see anymore anyone. It’s not a hotel, it’s a real house in a real city with real people with their habbits and life.. To tell the truth, we have never seen anyone who proposes drugs! The police – yes, but I see it as a sign of security
I firmly advise this house for those who want to have night life in the center of the city. But even for those who go to bed at 10 o’clock. Why not to fall asleep with the guitar next to your door with the songs of gypsies…
I’m writing this because my boyfriend and I have enjoid our stay in Eivissa thanks to this house in Sa Penya area!

A Great in Town Location

I was looking for accomodation in the heart of Ibiza town with all the night time hustle and bustle, bars and shopping and general activity and this accomodation matched perfectly.

Very good for nightlife people and younger/active couples. Has an excellent/large roof terrace with glimpse of sea which is accessed via very steep steps.

The accommodation is clean, roomy and very well presented with good facilities and good Air/con in main room - I had a really good stay and would be happy to stay again.

Owner was very accomodating of our late arrival/departure times.
