Casa Mariposas is a luxury modern villa enjoying fabulous panoramic views of the Sierra Tejeda Mountains from the and the whitewashed villages of Alcaucin, Periana, and Los Romanes. Situated in a very peaceful, private location the villa is the ideal base for exploring this lovely area of Andalucia, very close to Lake Vinuela and 5 minutes by car to many excellent restaurants, shops and local amenities in the nearby villages. Malaga airport is 45 minutes away and the Spanish resort of Torre del Mar with its great beaches and good shopping is just 15 minutes drive. The villa is very comfortably furnished and well equipped with everything to make your stay a memorable one. Many guests return year after year. Suitable for the less able, (please enquire as to disabled facilities available to hire,) air conditioning, mosquito blinds on all windows, Broadband & WiFi, satellite TV, DVD /CD player and much more. contact us for details.

The village of La Vinuela is in the Axarquia region of Andalucia, nestling in the foothills of the mountains of the Sierra Tejeda National Park which rise to a height of over 2000m. There is a good supermarket, a chemist, a health centre, ATM machine, local bank, and various bars. The nearby small village of Puente Don Manuel has a variety of shops, a new bakery, an excellent Spanish butchers, two small supermarkets and various bars and restaurants. The nearby villages of Alcaucin and Periana are also worth a visit for the stunning views of Lake Vinuela and the surrounding countryside. The villa is very close to Lake Vinuela and enjoys panoramic views over the whole area. There is a large commercial shopping center 'El Ingenio' just on the outskirts of Torre del Mar and the town itself has many good beach bars and restaurants as well as a great promenade and excellent beaches.

We stayed at Casa Mariposa in July. Have just got home. The villa was wonderful. We were family of 2 children and 3 adults and we all enjoyed it. The pool is not overlooked by anyone so all very private. There was all you needed and we only went to the beach twice and Nerja once as we were happy to stay by the pool. Local shops ok for bits and pieces but larger supermarket 15min drive away. We tried some of the restaurants recommended but we seemed to like Friends in Puente de Manuel as they catered for all and food was excellent and reasonable. Needed the car but roads ok.

We've just returned from our second holiday at Casa Mariposa - shame we couldn't stay longer.
We've also stayed at the owner's other nearby property, Casa Olivia. Both are lovely villas with
excellent facilities and great for a really relaxing holiday just lazing by the pool.The owner is
very helpful providing all details and directions and is always ready to answer any questions.Both
properites are very clean and tidy with plenty of linen and towels provided. I would highly
recommend both properties.We will definitey be going back.
Torre del Mar beach is the nearest although we preferred to drive a little further to Nerja -
there's a restaurant there that does great food - La Pizzeria Rocky II.
