Beautiful villa with private pool less than 5 minutes walk from village.

Great relaxing holiday in wonderful village.

We were delighted with the standard of the villa - La Casa De Flores. Our own pool, all the amenities we required and within easy walking distance to the village.

The communication and helpfulness of Margaret the owner ensured that our stay was made very easy, even arranging for pick up to and from the airport was arranged.

Archez is great village if you want to get away from the more commercial side of Spain and for me it was fantastic trying to converse with the locals in Spanish – they don’t speak much English.

I would be booking this again now if my job situation was a little more secure. Fully recommend this to anyone.

We spent two wonderful weeks at this beautiful villa. The description and photos given on the web site are completely accurate. When we opened the gate on arriving at the villa it was like walking into paradise. The sun was shining, the fragrance of the jasmine was in the air and the sound of the rippling water of the pool really took our breath away. This is certainly a 'house of flowers' and lives up to its name. Inside the house was cool, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We did spend most of our time outside making the most of the wonderful weather watching the sun rise over the mountains every morning through to listening to the cicadas in the evening. On our more energetic days there was plenty to do round about. We walked down to Archez which only took 5 minutes or so, walked to the neighbouring village of Canilas de Albaida (1/2 hours walk) or drove the 15 minutes to Competa the nearby town. The supermarket there had everything we needed. We enjoyed trips to Torre del Mar and Nerja, both only 1/2 hours drive away and also further afield to Granada and the Alhambra. There are plenty of places to eat out and we had a couple of meals in the restaurant at the bottom of the hill from the villa and worked off all the calories from the huge portions on our walk back up the hill afterwards! I am a vegetarian and have found this to be a bit of a problem in some countries but was surprised at the choice of places to eat at 'meatfree'in the area. Special thanks to Margaret who from the beginning of arranging our booking was so helpful giving us advice from when best to book our flights to how to book our tickets for the Alhambra on line before we left. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she responded immediately to my email queries giving us recommendations about where to eat that provided vegetarian options for me. We really can't thank her enough. Having all this information before we left made the whole process less stressful and we could really relax into holiday mode staight away. We would love to return for another holiday and would certainly recommend La Casa de Flores to our family and friends. Thank you again for enabling us to have such a great and memorable holiday.

We enjoyed a very restful week at La Casa De Flores, which is a lovely well maintained, very clean villa overlooking the villages of Archez and Canillas and within a few minutes drive of Competa.

The fact that we enjoyed our week in total relaxation was due in no small part to the owner, Margaret. From start to finish she was very well organised and helpful, with plenty of useful information regarding the local facilities, restaurants shops etc. Communication was excellent with nothing left to chance and the whole transaction was easy in every way.

The property is as promised with everything you need on hand. It is looked after by a British couple living locally and they do a very good job of keeping the pool clean and the house and garden spotless.

The immediate area is quiet, but there are three good bar/restaurants within walking distance and plenty more in Competa along with a decent supermarket and other shops.

We are happy to recommend Margaret and Brian's villa and look forward to returning one day.
