Enjoy this enchanting location amidst 360 Hectares of beauty close to the coast.

Casa Mireya is entered via a sunny flower filled courtyard to the rear and follows the traditional style spanish pueblo house. The property is furnished with antique and contemporary pieces to a very high standard and offers plenty of space and comfort. The courtyard, outside dining and BBQ at the rear are located next to the kitchen, there is also separate dining next to the salon with satellite,WIFI,CD,DVD. All the rooms open through french doors to a terrace at the front with incredible views. During the summer the sun sets behind the mountains in the distance around 10.30 PM, this is a fantastic place to sit out in the evening with a drink and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. The bedrooms are located, 3 opening onto the garden level, and master suite on the top level, all beds are super king size with quality mattresses and linen. The mediterranean planted garden with unique fabulous 180 degree views to the mountains, sea and North Africa on a clear day is a great sun trap also providing privacy and a safe space for small children to play. Located only 10 to 15 minutes from the main coast road, local village and beach and 5 to the closest restaurant, Monte Mayor offers a uniquely beautiful natural location.

Monte Mayor: Monte Mayor lies in a valley nature reserve surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, and rich flora and fauna, just 20km from Marbella. Building volume has been kept deliberately low to safeguard the valley’s peace and tranquility. An exclusive clubhouse, driving range, tennis courts and other resort facilities complete the project. Rare Idyllic isolation often comes at the expense of being far from so-called civilization. Surprisingly this sheltered and peaceful valley, punctuated by the scent of pine groves, lies less than ten minutes' drive from the main coastal road and the beach and the traditional Andalusian villages of Cancelada and Benahavís border either side of this Exclusive estate.

Further area Attractions: TRADITIONAL SPANISH MARKETS. There are various markets held in the area on a daily basis, the closest is Cancelada 10 minutes. HISTORIC WHITE VILLAGES, there are many under an hour away. RONDA, SEVILLE, CORDOBA, GRANADA & the stunning ALHAMBRA PALACE. The world class skiing resort of SIERRA NEVADA is a few hours by car. STEAM TRAIN - crossing the Andalusian mountains departs from San Roque to Ronda. MOROCCO- you can take the fast ferry for a memorable day trip to Morocco from Algeciras .SELWO ADVENTURE PARK (Estepona) - over 2000 Animals, just 15 minutes away. 4x4 Tours plus adventure activities BORN TO BE WILD- Blue Dolphin Beach Club (Estepona Beach). Golf: The Costa del Sol has the perfect climate all year round, offering some of the finest golf courses in Europe. Monte Mayor Golf and Country Club ranks amongst the five most picturesque courses in the world, it is situated next to the Marbella Club Golf course and there are a number of other courses within a short distance; Los Aqueros, Atalaya, La Alquería and El Paraíso Golf Valley, Los Flamingos, La Quinta and La Zagaleta.

Shopping : I don't know where to start. TRADITIONAL SPANISH MARKETS. There are various markets held in the area on a daily basis, the closest is Cancelada 10 minutes for fresh produce. Larger markets are held in Marbella on a saturday and Estepona on a sunday. The larger markets sell everything from cheap sunglasses to bio produce, fresh vegetables, handbags, clothing, traditional ceramics and Morrocan homeware.

MARBELLA AND OLD TOWN. Fantastic traditional shops, boutiques, spanish brands and tourist shops.

PUERTO BANUS. Much the same as Marbella but with a slant on high end international brands around the port area. EL Corte Ingles is also in Puerto Banus, they have a fantastic deli for an amazing selection of traditional spanish and international delicacies !

LA CANADA. Approx 30 minutes away La Canada is a large mall, lots of fabulous spanish brands and a huge Carrefour are here.

SUPERMARKETS. Closest supermarket La Mercadona is 10 minutes away.

Why Anna chose Benahavis

Beautiful property, fantastic and unique location due to the stunning natural surroundings that only a handful of urbanisations on the coast can boast.

The area is also renowned for its rare and dependable microclimate, ensuring glorious outdoor living for most of the year.

A view that never becomes boring, sometimes you can hear the bells on the goats moving along the mountain but they are often difficult to locate. The environment is tranquil yet very close to civilization, glitz or culture and there is a huge variety of things to do for all ages.

The architecturally interesting pastel coloured houses interspersed around cobbled roads and flower filled terraces within La Heredia are all different and pretty to look at.

What makes this house unique

You can enjoy the best of both worlds in a hidden valley, a flavor of andalucia surrounded by nature yet which is not isolated and close enough to the coast. There are fabulous walks within and around Monte Mayor that can be enjoyed year round, you can walk to benahavis or just below to a natural waterfall. It is the perfect location and in a world of its own.

Thankfully we opted for the uniqueness of your home and had a thoroughly fantastic holiday, we were happy to have opted not to stay on the coast, now we know it is very different but not that far away. La Heredia is as you said so interesting and pretty to walk around and the light is fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed the garden with a VIEW and would love to return.
