Luxury apartment, jacuzzi, aircon, wi-fi, sea views, parking, close beach/golf

All aspects of the apartment were first class. It was spotlessly clean, very nicely furnished and in an excellent location. It was a pleasure to sit on the terrace in the morning sun checking my emails on the WiFi with views out to the sea. The owners were a joy to deal with and very helpful, providing us with useful information about the area and even a map. Duquesa Suites is a beautiful complex with extensive gardens, children's playground, barbeque area, tennis/basketball courts and 4 swimming pools. It was sunny but a bit windy when we were there in March and we found that the pools on the inner side of the complex were completely shielded. Duquesa Suites is only a 12 minute casual walk down a very nice street to the marina. Walking down the hill really did add to our enjoyment compared to staying in one of the complexes adjacent to the marina. We also enjoyed walking back up though the steep hill would not suit everybody but taxis were always readily available at a cost of 6 euros. We enjoyed lunch in the sun at the various restaurants on the harbour side. The prices were all extremely reasonable. There is a very wide range of restaurants around the marina. Our 2 favourites were Kinnaree, a Thai restaurant on the upper level of the marina and "The Bistro", which is owned by "the English Butcher" next door. Kelly's Bar situated half way down the hill from the complex is a great place to have a full English breakfast or a drink in the evening. Gibraltar is good for a day trip and only half an hour in the car. It is perhaps better to park just outside and cross the border on foot since the queues can be quite long. We took a guided taxi tour from the cable car base station to the top of the rock. This is a great way to learn about the history and the vast array of tunnels. We will definitely return to La Duquesa and explore more of the surrounding area. Many thanks to Alan & Tina Robins for allowing us to stay in their apartment. We would not hesitate to recommend their apartment to anyone wishing to visit the Costa del Sol.

We spent a lovely 4 days at this apartment. It's well situated for enjoying a relaxing time on the Costa del Sol or day excursions to Gibraltar or Tangier. The apartment was very comfortable, spacious and well appointed. It definitely lived up to the description on the website.

We were rather disappointed in the town of La Duquesa. We thought it lacked character, but it had the required amenities of restaurants and grocery store.

We had a great stay at this Duquesa suites apartment. Sarah was very helpful on arrival day and when we locked the terrace door and did not know how to open it again ... LOL. I liked the furniture and the fully equiped kitchen, nothing was missing except a percolator as we, Belgian people drink coffee. No problem, we bought a small Italian coffee maker that will be useful in our own apartment and if we have the opportunity to go back to Manilva some time.
The beds were very comfortable. No back pain which is sometimes a problem when I do not sleep in my own bed :-)
Wifi was available from the lounge although better on the terrace. Anyway as the weather was fine, my son and our friend were always outside until late.
From the lounge and the large terrace we had a wonderful view on the sea and a large lawn (I liked it as I hate feeling "imprisoned" between other buildings).
