Luxury 3 bed apartment with spectacular views on 5 star golf resort

We stayed in this apartment for 2 weeks over Easter. It is very spacious, bright and airy and very well equipped. The apartment was spotless and it is obviously well cared for and maintained.

Its location on the Costa Del Sol was perfect- a quiet and charming little village far enough from the hustle and bustle of the nearby cities but close enough to make use of the conveniences such cities offer.

From Malaga Airport, we used the train into Fuengirola (2.60 Euros per person) and then caught a taxi to the apartment (17.50 Euros). This was effortless and cheaper than a taxi directly from the airport (about 50 Euros). I daresay you could catch the 220 bus in Fuengirola and then a taxi from La Cala but having luggage on the bus might be tricky. Once settled in the apartment, using the bus into Fuengirola is really easy and convenient. The Bus Stop is at the bottom of the hill and if you purchase a bus card (from the tobacconist in town- opposite the supermercado) for 1 Euro and pre load it, a trip costs 88 cents instead of 2 Euros.

We loved walking along the beach to town (about half an hour at a relaxed pace), sunning ourselves for a while, then going into one of the many restaurants or coffee shops for a meal or snack, then picking up a few things for dinner at the supermarket before heading home in the evening. The walk up the hill got easier each day and helped to work off all the guilt from the lovely food.

With a hire car, we had fantastic day trips to Ronda and Gibraltar both of which were well worth the drive. Highly recommended.
We also went further afield to Granada and the Alhambra. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Hole in The Wall outside the Caixa Bank in La Cala. It is, however, a long way to go and we thought the day trips above were more rewarding.
We also really loved Marbella, particularly the Old Town.

All in all, between sun, sand and golf, we had a really nice stay. Even on the few rainy days, there was plenty to entertain us. Television reception was excellent and we watched a Dvd or two (there is a selection of these and also many books in the living room). Playing cards by candlelight with a couple of bottles of wine was amazing family time. The ipod docking station and no neighbours (the complex was almost empty) to complain about the volume of our music added to the holiday atmosphere.

I stayed in this apartment with my 9 year old son and my husband over Christmas. I have been visiting this part of the coast for over 20 years and visit twice per year summer and Christmas. I have to say that this apartment is probably one of the best i have stayed in. It is modern and spacious and ans amazing full sea views (this is something that is a must for me). We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed lovely sunshine from 9.30 am until around 3pm.
Torrenueva beach and the wonderful Pepe's chiringuito is just a 10 minute walk downhill and an absolute must! la Cala is only a 20 minute walk away and easily reached along the beach.
The complex is very clean and extremely well looked after with the cleaners and gardeners around most of the time.
The apartment was very clean and the balcony was very large with a little area on the other side where you can enjoy the last of the sunshine from late afternoon.
As it was christmas is was very quiet (this is something that i like about this time of year).
I would be reluctant to tell anyone about this apartment as i dont want to let everyone in on this wonderful place!!!
i am visiting again in September and cant wait.

Have to agree with what Sandra C says about this apartment. This is the second time we have stayed in this complex and first time we stayed in Gerrys'. It is without, the best apartment we have ever stayed in. Every room is a decent size with a huge balcony with a beautiful view over the Med, Families with small kids should have no problems with the kids playing on the balcony, once they use their common sense. We had our breakfast and lunch there every day, with ours and they loved it. The complex is beautifully maintained and spotless, with a Lifeguard on duty from 11-7, each day. We found that there were a lot of familiar faces and friendly people from last year around the pool, so people must love coming back here. Gerry is fantastic to deal with, very patient and informative. The beach is about a 10 minute walk and so is the local supermarket. La Cala is a great place for restaurants, kids will love the playground. We have 3 young kids and did not hire a car, as there is a great bus service at the end of hill. Would go back tomorrow!
