Apartment Velez: Studio, Sleeps 3

This was our first trip to mainland Spain and won't be our last. Location is absolutely brilliant, very tranquil and peaceful exactly as described. The accommodation is clean and comfortable with everything one needs including the washing machine which is such a bonus these days with weight restrictions on luggage. Sue and Doug are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble. They have a good knowledge of the area and there is plenty of information available within the accommodation of place to go and visit. The 3 dogs are lovely, particularly Amy who is so smart and very entertaining around the pool. Highly recommended!

My husband and I have just returned from a perfect holiday spent at Hacienda del Sol. Sue and Doug made us very welcome and we were able to enjoy the most relaxing holiday we have ever had.

The location is spectacular if you like peace and quiet. The pool is lovely - it almost feels like an infinity pool with superb views of the surrounding hills. The gardens alongside the pool provide a 'spiritual retreat' - perfect for lounging on the sunbed in the shade of the beautiful trees if you feel like a break from the sun and to take in the fab view of the hills (with goat bells jangling in the distance being the only noise). I managed to read 6 books in 8 days - perfect!

It only takes around 20 minutes to travel into Torres de Mar which was full of Spanish holidaymakers and much more bustling if you do prefer a bit more of a lively environment. We followed one of Sue's drives (4-5 hours) up into the National Park near by - it was well worth it although the terrain was a bit bumpy due to recent rains. We also took Sue's advice and did the Open Top bus tour of Malaga - again well worth it - I was really surprised at how much history there is and the view from the walls of the old palace down over Malaga and the bull ring etc. were fantastic.

A great holiday location if you just want to chill out and relax and we would certainly love to return. It is a great location for couples wanting to get away from it all.

The apartment itself is simple and clean with all the basic facilities you need - the shower was really powerful which is always great!

You do need a car though.

Just a little note to say thank you very much for allowing Malcolm and I into your peace bubble. We really enjoyed it and wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you too for the happy birthday you left for him in our room, he was made up.
I hope we can visit you again at some point maybe for longer next time.
