Self catering holiday accommodation – 3 studio garden apartments, each accommodates two persons, two adjacent to each other, all on level ground! Plus a two bedroom villa/apt. All have patios, sun roofs and built to a high modern standard whilst maintaining a typical Andalucian style. Resident hosts Sue & Doug on hand with lots of ideas and literature on what to do and where to go! Documented and mapped walks from our doorstep. 2 mountain bikes available. An ideal base for sight- seeing, property hunting, painters paradise, rambling, mountain-biking or simply relax, unwind and let the cares float away

Guests have commented how easy and quick it is to access the main motorways, (7 mins from main road) both north for the A92 and south for the A7, in order to visit places like Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Malaga. They have also been surprised at just how many places of interest there are to visit locally. Many have said they will have to come back as there were so many places they still hadn't seen!

Vinuela, at Hacienda del Sol, has 2 bedrooms both with plenty of storage cupboards. One twin room, and a double room with kingsize bed, patio doors opening onto sunny patio and private garden. Lounge with comfy sofa, dining area with American style fully equipped kitchen. Separate large bathroom. Vinuela has it's own large roof terrace accessed by balastraded staircase. This apartment sleeps 4. Cot available. Fantastic views from kitchen and bedroom windows, sun all day! All the tourist information available in the apartment to enable you to explore all the different aspects of this spectacular region, incl well documented and mapped local walks. Resident owners Sue & Doug at hand to help with any queries. Large landscaped gardens containing pool, Jacuzzi, exotic palms and trees and special natural wood sculpture gardens! Our lovely secluded hideaway nestles in the foothills of the Sierra Tejeda, in the heart of Axarqia, a unique region east of Malaga, bordered by mountains, lakes and the glorious beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, 20 mins away. An unspoilt area of Andalucia, full of contrasts and delights to discover and explore. With 320 days of sunshine a year, there’s plenty to do whatever the season! Enjoy tapas, sample the local wine whilst strolling through the typical Andalucian white villages precariously perched on mountaintops and hillsides, one of the many legacies left by the Moors. See the prehistoric remains in the amazing caves near Nerja. Visit the hot springs at Alhama de Granada. Try horse riding around Lake Vinuela. Join in the fun at one of the many fiestas held in all the villages and towns throughout the year. Visit the famous Alhambra palace and gardens at Granada. Seville, Ronda, Malaga all within easy day trips. Skiing at Sierra Nevada 2 hours away Dec - April, and loads more.

Other Activities: Mountain biking, 2 bikes for hire.

Golf: There are several golf courses in this vicinity. Nearest one is Baviera Golf, just 35 mins away. Our neighbours love the one at Antequerra, 70 mins away.

Ski: Sierra Nevada is only two and half hours away!! Fantastic skiing, plus a well designed designated area for sledging where you can hire the taboggans! Our grand -daughter loved it, (so did we).

Season from end of November until beginning of April. We have all the details in each apartment.

Notes: When we lived in England we had a guest house which was rated 4 diamonds. We have maintained the same high standards of cleanliness quality and hospitality here at Hacienda del Sol. We really want you to be able to relax and have a hassle free holiday here in this beautiful spectacular location. This is also a crime free area (apart from 2 pigeons stolen from a neighbour 18 months ago)!!! The local people out here in the campo (countryside) are very friendly and always ready to welcome you with a cheery 'Hola'. When you book with us we will send you very explicit instructions/directions from Malaga airport so you can't get lost. We guarantee you a warm welcome and invite you to really relax and enjoy, as one guest has put it, 'our bit of heaven' from the moment you arrive!

The Hacienda del Sol is a great place to stay if you wish to visit Andalucia. Sue and Dough are very friendly and eager to share their knowledge of the area and love of Spain. The house stands in the middle of a superb countryside.
We just had a wonderful week, enjoying the sun and flowers, the wonders of Cordoba, Granada, Ronda, Nerja...all amazing places easy to drive to from our guest's nest.

Bubble of tranquillity at Hacienda del Sol

What a find! We found Hacienda del Sol on your website and it appeared to be perfect. Exactly what we were searching for. After a couple of e-mails to Sue which she replied to very quickly, we booked Vinuela for two weeks. Sue sent us some very useful pre-arrival information including full details of how to get there. She even arranged to meet us part way and escort us the last couple of kilometres.

We weren't to be disappointed. Everything was as described on the website except the views, peace and tranquility: these were much better than words could describe.

We received a very warm welcome from Sue. There was a very full and comprehensive visitors pack, in fact there were two full files. Sue also had a file of local walks right from the doorstep. She was always willing to help with advice on where to visit and how to get there.

A car is essential as its several kilometres from shops, beaches and restaurants. Amongst other places, we visited Ronda and Granada. If you want to visit the Alhambra in Granada, book tickets well in advance and get them before your visit. If you book on line, tickets can be collected at the cash machines at Caixa banks.

Staying at Hacienda del Sol was very peaceful and relaxing. It's a long time since we were both so "chilled". It truly is a "bubble of tranquility" . Thank you Sue for two wonderful relaxing weeks.

A wonderful tranquil place to be

We really enjoyed our time at Hacienda Del Sol. The description we found on the internet got our attention as we were looking for something personal and relaxing, a place where you can recover from your day to day working life. As we arrived we knew that we had found exactly that, it even beat our expectations. Lovely setting, beautiful views and lots of sunshine (-; Although you are in the peaceful mountains of Rubite, it takes only 20 Minutes to the beach and the next Supermarkets. And there is so much to see and explore. 3 weeks of stay for us where hardly enough to see every attraction of this beautiful landscape. A few that should be on your to do list: El Torcal (1 hour distance), Alhambra & Granada (2 hours) and Nerja (45 min). And don't worry about a tourist info as the wonderful hostess Sue has all informations you can possibly need.
Owner's Response: The time went so quickly you never did get to Puerto Banus, and see the fantastic yachts and cars of the rich and famous and just people watch! Or to Ronda, Cordoba, Antequerra, and Sevilla. It was lovely to see you have so much fun, particularly when you borrowed the tent and camped in one of the caves the other side of the gorge at Alhama de Granada, but you didn't get to the natural Hot Springs just outside. So there will be lots to see and do when you come back. Sue.

Hacienda del sol is the most sympatic place we staid in.
Sue is really nice and will help you whatever you need. She will tell you where are the quiet beaches and the funny things to visit.

The place is really beautiful. You're not to far from de sea, and you can have moments of silence just watching the view without anything troubling it, and also find the best places to party.

I just have to tell : go there and enjoy it !

I know you enjoyed the historical part of Malaga, it's so interesting, hope you've got over your distress from watching the bull fight there! Can't remember if you eventually got to that fabulous flamenco club at Nerja? I know you went to some good night spots plus we all had a great BBQ on Chantal's birthday eh. Think you needed a rest when you got home! Hope you are able to come again soon. Sue.

You can do whatever you want here!

We came with a lot of full shoppingbags because that was Sue's advice and she was right. As soon as we came to her place we knew already that we wouldn't leave because here we could read, write, do mindfullness, start (at last) our yoga exercises and do what we wanted to do for a long time: Relax without any noise apart from nature's sounds.
A spacy apartment for two and a lot of modcons for if you want them. We were in the garden at the swimmingpool enjoying the tranquility and the heat.
And on top of this all I must tell you about the roof of the apartment where we sat and felt the Queen and King of Sheba!
Lots to enjoy here even if you want to visit the villages around here.We won't forget the friendliness and laughs of Sue. She has got a holiday character.
