This centrally heated villa is has a large attractive dining room with log stove & electonic keyboard. The kitchen has a dishwasher, electric oven, four hobs, micro-wave, washing machine, and fridge freezer. The charming separate sitting room, with sofa bed, has a stove, UK satellite 42 inch HDTV & DVD player. The master bedroom has an enclosed balcony with panoramic sea views. The bathroom has also been refurbished. All main rooms have ceiling fans. The villa has PAYG broadband. The walled garden, with lawn , mimosa, jacaranda and lemon trees, has two delightful terraces, one outside the dining room with good views of the sea and the other outside the sitting room . The villa is very close to the centre of the village where there is a well stocked mini-market, restaurant, cash point, public telephone and two of the main swimming pools with a poolside bar and children’s pool. The villa is well equipped and furnished to a high standard to provide you and your family with a most enjoyable holiday.

Travel: By car, Malaga airport to El Capistrano Village takes approximately 45 minutes. Alternatively, a train or airport bus (Number 19) takes you to Malaga Central Bus Station where a bus (Number 38) takes you to Nerja and stops at the entrance to the village. There are also local buses from Nerja to Torre del Mar, Frigliana, the Nerja caves and Almunecar.

Things to do: Nerja offers good beaches and a wide variety of restaurants from the simple to more sophisticated. Its famous caves are close by and are quite amazing. The Sierra Almijara National Park lies immediately behind the village and offers splendid walking at all levels. Frigiliana, a whitewashed mountain village close by, offers excellent restaurants both in the village itself and in the countryside around as well as a lively market. Further afield, the Alhambra Palace in Granada is about 2 hours away by car but you must book in advance to get in (by internet or BBVA Bank in Nerja) . It is well worth it as it is a place of unparalleled beauty. A similar drive takes you to the Sierra Nevada or to the Alpujarras mountains, with their charming villages, again well worth the trip. There are golf courses nearby and water sports are available on the beach.

Nerja is a delightful family resort set against the backdrop of the striking Sierra de Almijara mountains, with over ten miles of sandy beaches in all. The 'Balcon de Europa' in the centre is a handsome promenade, lined with palm trees, that provides panoramic views of the Mediterranean. It also provides a stage for street performers, numerous cafes and restaurants and is a starting point for horse drawn trips round the town. The town has a wide variety of restaurants from the simple to the more sophisticated, including some excellent fish restaurants. Some provide entertainment in the evening, including some good flamenco performances. There are plenty of shops and a popular local market is held every Tuesday. There are also several local travel operators who provide excursions to Ronda, Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Marbella, and even Gibraltar. There is a tennis club and a large supermarket just outside the village.

Notes

  • Access to the villa is from 4pm and departure by 10 am. Normally bookings are from Saturday to Saturday during high season but some flexibility is possible at other times of the year. We ask for a deposit of 20% to secure the booking with the balance to be paid six weeks in advance. Payments either by cheque or via electronic transfer. Price includes tv, cleaning, electricity, linen and towels. A travel cot, high chair booster and stair gates are available at no extra cost. Wireless broadband internet access is available as a pay as you go service.

Fantastic, spacious house with great garden

We loved this holiday house. The other reviews have already covered all the pros and offered lots more details, I'm not sure if there are any cons.
We chose this place because we're not beach lovers and we wanted somewhere for our 4 year old daughter to be able to play outside and the garden was perfect for this. The home was exactly as described, if not bigger and better, and we would really recommend it.

Our first stay in Capistrano

This was our first stay in Capistrano village and we were very pleasantly surprised by how well the complex is laid out and tended.

Ann and Stuart’s house was comfortable, very well equipped, with both a very good range of books and excellent tv/satellite, and the garden and terrace were a delight. (We particularly enjoyed the juice from the windfall oranges each morning!)

We will hope to be back there again next January.

Comfy villa with garden and terrasses

We were happily surprised with this characteristic house in the beautiful and well decorated area of Capistrano on the border of Nerja.
Lots of green and flowers in the large sunny garden on a very relaxed spot with cheerful birdsounds.
Supermarkets on walking distance as well as the beaches and Nerja's cozy and attractive centre with al kinds of shops and restaurants.
The owners provided lots of comfort by the installated fans in all the rooms and on the terrasses, with adjustible blinds in and outdoor, very comfortable beds in de sleepingrooms and a fully equiped kitchen.

Homely villa in a great location

We stayed for 8 nights and found Sylvia Casa a very convenient base. It allowed us to visit Granada and the Alhambra (1.5 hours drive away); the museums of Malaga (1 hour); to go walking in the mountain villages of La Axarquia (30-45 mins) and La Alpajurras (1 hour); and to see the magnificent caves of Nerja (down the road).

The villa is full of charater, is comfortable, beautifully decorated and homely. It is a relaxing and private place yet benefits from on-site 'village' facilities: bar, supermarket etc. The owners have provided a library including walking books, maps, general guides of the surrounding area, Spanish language, a range of fiction and a great read on the history of El Capistrano itself. The keyboard allows the musically talented (or challenged) a creative outlet which may be a treat. The kitchen has everything you would need: variety of utensils (often missing in holiday lets), space to chop and cook and unexpected extras such as tin foil. There are large double wardrobes in both bedrooms for clothes storage.

The outdoor spaces were inviting. We stayed during an unusually cold snap so couldn't take full advantage yet the sun was warm enough for breakfast outdoors and the indoor terrace off the bedroom is a great alternative with views over the garden to the sea beyond.

Would recommend and would like to return soon.

Being a very seasoned visitor to capistrano over the last twenty five years and have stayed in four previous villas we had a good idea what to expect from the villa but on arrival was pleasently surprised at the level of accomodation, The location is excellent for the mini-mart on site and the main pool area,the villa has everything you need if you want to self-cater,the main bedroom has a lovely view over the med and the town and the new bathroom and shower are way above the average you normally find here, the terraces and garden are great to relax in having the sun all day, if you are looking for a two bedroom villa in capistrano to stay in this is as good as it gets would recommend to anyone - Thank you Ann & stuart
