A self-catering rental with outdoor summer kitchen, 5 mins to Moraira

This beautiful modern villa apartment is situated on the ground floor of a large detached villa. Luz De La Luna (meaning Light of the Moon) offers guests the exclusive use of the private swimming pool, bathing terrace and outside summer kitchen with views across the stunning Spanish countryside. With driveway parking guests enter the ground floor area through the apartment's private gated entrance. The apartment is very modern, beautifully furnished and boasts a shaded naya with dining room table and chairs overlooking the pool. There is one double bedroom and one twin room with a large separate bathroom with corner bath and separate walk-in shower unit. Also close by guests can use the communal pool, free Wifi, tennis courts, bar/restaurant and hard surface football court.

There are two supermarkets in walking distance. The centre of Moraira is only a 5 minute drive (approx. 3 kms) and Javea being 10 minutes by car.

About Moraira.... : Once a sleepy fishing village, Moraira has grown into a small yet charming and picturesque town and yet due to strict planning laws is still very pretty and not over-developed. The main hub of life is beside the pretty yacht marina offering a good selection of restaurants and bars where you can sit outside and watch the world go by. A charming square still retains much of the original character and atmosphere and is home to the local church. There are restaurants, bars and several interesting shops lining the narrow cobbled streets. In the high season, the town comes alive in the evenings with locals and visitors alike

The beach.... : This little town also has its own popular wide, gently-shelving sandy beach with shallow waters and a smaller beach in the adjacent hamlet of El Portet. Both beaches were awarded the prestigious EEC Blue Flags for cleanliness and are safe for family bathing, both are also served by beach bars and restaurants which serve drinks, snacks and main meals. It is also well worth exploring the many other coves and bays along the coast with sand or sand/rock beaches

Its location... : Moraira is situated at the end of a long valley. The surrounding pine-clad foothills provide both shelter from the winter weather from the north and a natural vortex for cooling summer sea breezes. Moraira’s perfect orientation provides the majority of its properties with a southerly downhill view towards the sea. The development in the area is mostly detached privately-owned villas with very few holiday apartments and no holiday package hotels whatsoever and therefore accommodation is virtually limited to privately-owned villas. Nearly all the properties are owned by Northern Europeans either as retirement or holiday homes and are spread over quite a substantial area. The well-spaced villa development does mean that a car is a necessity in most areas.

Moraira is situated in the North of the Alicante province on the Costa Blanca - the East coast of Spain. Approx 1 hours drive from Alicante airport and a further 20 minutes to Valencia airport. The development in the area is mostly privately-owned villas with no holiday package hotels whatsoever. Nearly all the properties are owned by Northern Europeans either as retirement or holiday homes and are spread over quite a substantial area. Not far inland the area is dominated by rugged mountains, cut by deep valleys and fertile plains which provide an impressive backdrop to the coastal landscape. Benidorm is around a 30 minute drive away where you will find great activities for the children, including Aqualandia Water Park, Terramitica (Spain's answer to Disneyland) and Mundomar (sea world).

Golf: There are upwards of 12 golf courses on the Costa Blanca and 4 within easy reach of Moraira. All are affiliated to the Spanish Federation and consequently can validate members handicap internationally. All have golf clubs for hire and most, if not all can provide coaching. CLUB DE GOLF ‘IFACH’ No of Holes: 9 Par: 60. The Club de Golf Ifach course is situated on the coast road between Moraira and Calpe on the San Jaime Urbanisation in Benissa, hence surrounding views of the most prestigious properties in the area, set in a beautiful fertile valley with distant scenes of Calpe’s D’Ifach rock and sparkling blue Mediterranean sea. CLUB DE GOLF JAVEA No of Holes: 9 Par: 72. Situated between Moraira and Javea, this all year course is slightly longer and quite flat, easier to play and not so tiring in the hot summer sun. It has been attractively landscaped around the greens and also benefits from a putting green, driving range, club bar and restaurant, heated swimming pool, tennis and squash courts. CLUB DE GOLF LA SELLA - No of Holes: 18, Par: 72. On the back-road between Javea and Denia, situated inland near the area of Jesus Pobre, this course was opened in 1991 and designed to use ‘all the clubs in the bag’. Although almost totally flat it has many trees and water obstacles (canals and lakes which provide the irrigation).

The two resident owners occupy the upper level of the villa and have every respect for the privacy of guests occupying Luz De La Luna apartment. We would like you to pass on our sincerest thanks & regards to Richard & Sandra who were fantastic. They let us work away on our own & they are there

when & if we needed them. They where most helpful & the information they provide on the local area in the apartment villa is outstanding. The apartment villa

was super place to stay it was perfect for the family holiday we wanted. Our evening where filled great food cooked out doors, washed down be a glass of Rioja

while watching the sun set & playing endless games of scrabble & enchanted forest. The pool became the centre of our holiday & there was a danger at one point

of the kids sleeping in it. Getting out & about was so easy & there is so much to see, all we had to do was pick a direction. Moraira is great & we would highly recommend the costal drive, taking in Calp etc. We are now back in rainy Ireland & longing for another visit to the Costa Blanca.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Thank you Richard and Sandra for letting us stay at your wonderful appartment. The place was so comfortable and well equipped. We all loved the pool and the children(aged 2 and 7) had the time of their lives. Leo , the 7 year old, had only just learnt to swim before the holiday, and he came away a confident and competent swimmer and also learnt to dive. We made use of the excellent barbeque, enjoying eating al fresco with some nice chilled wine. The men loved the fact they could watch English football on TV and I was able to keep up with the British soaps. Steve and I have stayed in Moraira several times and this has been the best place to stay so far.We had many enjoyable evenings playing the quiz games provided and the children couldn't believe how many toys there were to play with. We are definitely planning a return visit but maybe without the grandchildren to have a more relaxing time.Thank you again. Rose and Steve

Amazing Holiday

We have returned safely after an amazing holiday. Please convey our thanks to Richard & Sandra for letting us stay at their wonderful appartment. It was so well equipped both in terms of comfort and enjoyment. The children made full use of the wide range of toys and of course the pool. Our 7 year old who had only just learnt to swim without arm bands before the holiday, came away a very confident and competent swimmer and diver. We made use of the excellent gas barbeque and the very good quiz game ‘smart arse’ which we hope to be able to buy in the UK. Richard and Sandra were excellent hosts and we are already planning when we can return. We have been to Moraira several times and this is the best place we have stayed in. Thank you.

What friendly and accomodating hosts, there when needed yet offering privacy of the apartment. Lovely decor, great equipment and good pool, nice views and excellent location for exploring from, car a great advantage.
My only caveat would be the darkness of the 'back bedroom', it's only natural light coming from a window set high in a wall that communicates with the front bedroom and needs closing at night with a blind drawn over it, but that's a minor point.
Overall i would say 'Luz de la luna' offers excellent facilities.

We had a great holiday at the Luz de la Luna apartment. We arrived at 2. am after midnight, the owners were waiting to welcome us!
The apartment is clean and well decorated, with more than enough space for four people. At this time of year the pool is only for diehards, so we did not really use it.
Especially nice is the naya with a big table with six chairs and several leather sofas to relax.
At close distance there are two hardcourt tennis courts. The owner was able to get a key for us, so we had unlimited access. Rackets and balls are available, good enough to have some fun on the court. If you want to play serious tennis, you'd better bring your own rackets.
This apartment is really as good as the pictures show.
The only thing which could be improved is the kitchen, which is very small.The dishwasher not in the kitchen, but outside in the laundry room.
We can recommend this apartment to everyone.
We would also like to mention the professional and friendly way that
the booking was managed by the booking agency.

Thanks Sandra and Richard, we hope to see you again at Luz de la Luna !
