Super March getaway
Just returned from a week here, and what a lovely place to stay. VERY quiet at this time of year, and cold too, unusually so for this region of Spain in March. The villa itself was first class, with everything possible provided for your comfort and convenience (including nice warm blankets !) We didn't need a car because the trams are easily accessible (5 mins walk away) and clean, punctual and very cheap. Just over a euro to travel into El Campello to stock up on provisions. There is a large supermarket right opposite the tram station in this town, so no need to carry shopping around, and the beach there is fantastic. We visited Alicante and Benidorm and there are lots of little villages to stop off in between these resorts, though these are probably better appreciated in summer months. Venta Lanuza has 3 bars/restaurants, the nearest by the beach is very friendly and have bingo and quiz nights, and the local customers are very welcoming. Sue the owner of the villa arranged transport for us to and from the airport giving us a completely hassle free experience! Apart from a few degrees c lacking in temperature, we found this to be the perfect relaxing break, and intend to return again in warmer weather.
