Getting to our Apartment: You can fly into Alicante or Valencia. Alicante is 1hr 10 mins and Valencia is 1hr 15 mins - both with easy access via the motorway A7. Detailed directions with booking.

Eating out and Attractions: The Arenal area has the beautiful sandy beach. This picturesque palm lined beach is just a 200 metre walk away. It has a fantastic selection of restaurants and bars overlooking the golden sand and Javea bay. From exquisite Spanish cuisine to wonderful Italian Pizzerias, Steakhouses, Chinese - the choice is endless aspiring to everyone’s taste. Try the Port area for even more choice and night life.

About 35 minutes away by car you have the fantastic Spanish theme park called Terra Mitica which is well worth a visit boasting the largest wooden roller coaster in Europe and numerous themed rides.

You also have Aqualandia Water Theme Park and Mundomar Animal and Sea World, all great places to visit for adults and children alike which is just a 40 minute car ride away.

The Three Areas of Javea: The Arenal beach area of Javea, where our apartment is located, is a most picturesque and palmed bay and is a haven for beach lovers with its wide golden sand and safe water for bathing. It has many restaurants, bars and shops and is the hub for night life in the area.

Just a 5 minute car ride or catch the holiday tram along the seafront or a 25 minute walk, is the traditional and still working fishing port where you can watch the boats and yachts coming and going over a chilled beer from one of the many bars . This area also has numerous shops and boutiques.

You then have the Old Town, which is, located inland above the Port, again just 10 minutes by car. Here you find the historic medieval town and beautiful church in the centre. The town also holds a weekly local market with numerous traditonal stalls and where you can buy wonderful fresh produce.

Javea is in the north of Alicante province, between Cabo San Antonio and Cabo La Nao. 1 hour drive north of Alicante airport and 1 hour south of Valencia airport. The town comprises three main areas - the old town, the fishing harbour/port and the Arenal. The wooded hills behind the beach and town hide the beautiful residential areas. In 1986 the World Health Organisation recommended the climate in this area as one of the most equitable in the world - neither too hot in the summer nor too cold in the winter. Javea enjoys a typical subtropical Mediterranean climate, with cool sea breezes in the summer and mild temperatures in the winter. The region averages about 3,000 hours of sunshine per year (about 325 days per year) and the average temperature is more than 20 degrees Centigrade.

Chillaxing Holiday !

My wife & I were looking for a relaxing holiday for our first vacation abroad without our son for 17 years. We wanted somewhere peaceful , sunshine and a pool . We also wanted a good standard of accommodation with a nice comfortable bed , UK TV and Wi-Fi internet access in order that we could keep in touch with our stay at home teenager. Suffice to say that we found all of this at Mont Salonica and had a terrific holiday. The terraces were a boon especially at night & the pool area is simply beautiful and very well maintained. The apartment itself is in an ideal location being a short walk from the Mas Y Mas supermarket and adjacent Arenal beach & it's associated shops , bars & restaurants whilst remaining far enough away to retain the tranquillity that we were seeking. During the majority of our time at the apartment we found that we had almost exclusive use of the pool it was that quiet. . During our holidays we usually like to eat out every night and in addition we also never drive whilst abroad and thus we can always fully appreciate the local wines. In Javea as well as the Arenal beach area which as stated above can be reached easily on foot you can easily hop on the local bus ( stop is on the main road not far from the apartment ) and for a flat fare of €1.30 you can choose to travel to the Port area or stay on until you reach the Old Town. We tried this successfully on a number of occasions although we had to take a taxi on the return journey as once out of the peak season the bus service dropped to an hourly service with the last bus being 8.30 pm. If you are watching the pennies ( or centimes ) then my tip would be to pop out mid-morning on the bus and have a stroll around the port before taking the return journey back to Arenal. With regard to the food available I would say that the standard is generally very high indeed and I can honestly say that every meal served in the various eating establishments that we frequented was well presented and the service by the waiting staff was also top notch. I would recommend Scallops as the value option - €9.95 for a 3 course meal including a bottle of wine and a voucher for a breakfast ( served between 10.00 - 1.00 pm ) takes some beating.We found that the food at Cafe Wien was top notch although a bit pricier. Best value of all was the Chino-Indonesian restaurant ( Via Laceate ) which for €14 served up a 6 course banquet with drinks. Anyway all in all a great place to stay and highly recommended !

Fabulous, comfy time!

August 2010. When we got into the apartment we were initially delighted with the amount of space and light in the rooms. The beds were comfortable and the whole place was spotless. As the holiday progressed we found that the apartment was provided with everything we needed. The air conditioning was a must and made the apartment a relaxing hide away when the weather got too much. The pool was very quiet, even in August we usually had it to ourselves. Some mornings we would run up to the roof and have breakfast or sun bathe, the sun beds are very comfortable.
The beach is a short walk away and, though we had hired a car, we found that we could quite happily have spent the entire holiday sampling the restaurants, lazing on the beach and swimming in the beautiful sea- the children spent a lot of time swimming out to the pontoon. In the evenings after our dinner we wandered up and down the promenade looking at the market stalls.
We loved every minute. The information provided by the owners allowed us to catch the weekly market in Moraira which was great- get there early, it got too hot later on!
Some evenings we went upto the roof and had a barbeque (the mas-y-mas on the promenade has a great butchers at reasonable prices). The roof is the best place to be if there is a storm- saw some amazing lightening from there while we stayed warm and dry with a cool pinot in our mits!
Arenal and furthe down Javea port are lovely places to wander about in and we were glad to find it was a 'family' place. There qwere no lager louts or noisy night clubs but there were some lovely place to sit and have a drink and look out to sea (we liked the bars behind the mas-y-mas, lots of comfy chairs). Avoid the 'All you can eat Argentinian restaurant- we gave up waiting after 1 and a half hours and left hungry)
Further afield we found go-karting, a small fun fair, markets, caves, a restaurant with it's own pool (kids loved it).
The owners provided an excellent service and worked hard to ensure we were well looked after (we couldn't work the TV so they spent time on the phone with us to help us and offered to have someone come over if we needed them to).
Cannot speak highly enough of the accomodation and service. The area feels safe and friendly. There was lots to do and both ourselves and our children (teenagers) had a wonderful time. We would recommend this property to anyone, and have done so to all of our friends.

My Mother and my Mother in law stayed at this fantastic apartment and they insist I write this review for them. In summary the penthouse was bright , cheerful and very comfortable. The roof terrace was a delight and the close proximity to the shops , restaurants and beach was ideal for them. They felt very safe and secure and hope they have the opportunity to return. In apriI-may 2009 I stayed with my family for 10 days in the apartment, and had a fabulous time.
The apartment is large, has beautiful views from balcony and rooftop, and offers all the luxury you need. Very clean and well-maintained.

There is easy access to the pool in a nice garden setting.
A few minutes walk to the beach, restaurants and shops.
The Javea area is great for hiking and cycling.
Tip: walk to the beach in the early morning to see the sun rise, it's magical.

The owner Sandy is very organized and helpful. A pleasure to deal with. I would recommend this place any time.

We stayed here for a week in April (2 adults and 1 baby). Excellent accommodation, very child friendly (stairgates, highchair and cot provided) with lift up to apartment. Accommodation is spacious with everything you need. Fantastic sunny roof terrace. Location is great, short walk to beach, shops and restaurants. All amenities nearby so do not need a car. Would definitely recommend.
