Casa Katyia is a luxurious split level villa situated on the hillside set in its own private shady gardens overlooking the sea and the village of Salema.
Each of the three air conditioned double bedrooms on the lower floor has direct access to the private pool and gardens. Upstairs there is a fully fitted kitchen, separate cloakroom, and an open plan lounge/dining room with a wood burning stove and additional electric heating for winter letting. There are two terraces, one secluded with steps down to the garden and pool, the other larger terrace overlooking the pool with stunning views of the sea is ideal for sunbathing and al fresco dining.
The villa is tastefully furnished, and has ample poolside and terrace furniture. Salema's safe sandy beach offers safe bathing, beach loungers and umbrellas can be hired there. In the village there is a small supermarket and there are several restaurants and bars within walking distance of the villa.
Golf and Sport: The nearest golf club to Salema is Parque da Floresta, some two kilometres away. There are several further golf clubs in the Lagos area, the most notable being the coastal club at Palmares in Lagos. The famous Penina club is approximately a half hour's drive from the villa.
Pedalos and canoes can be hired from the beach at Salema whilst all watersport activities are available at Luz Bay some fifteen minutes from Salema.The nearest marina is to be found in Lagos where there are the usual facilities for boat hire and bare boat charters.
Other sporting activities such as tennis,squash,bowls etc are available at the nearby resort of Burgau, some ten minutes from Salema.
There is also excellent surfing along the west coast, some 15 kms from the villa. Equipment can be hired from various surf shops in Lagos.
Local Nightlife: In Salema village itself there are several restaurants serving regional cuisine and locally caught seafood. There are several bars in the village, but that is the extent of the local nightlife. For those seeking more entertainment it is necessary to travel to Lagos, some fifteen kilometres away, the regional town of the Algarve. Here there are numerous bars restaurants and discotheques capable of satisfying most apetites!
Local places of interest: The Algarve is a beautiful area of Portugal and no visit there would be complete without a trip to Cape St Vincent, the southernmost tip of Europe.
Monichique, a mountain spa north of Portimao is well worth a visit to experience the magnificent views to the south and to the Atlantic to the west.
The beautiful wild Atlantic coast is undeveloped and is approached through dense pinewoods to the north of Vila da Bispo.
Closer to the villa,for the more energetic, there are magnificent coastal walks along the clifftops passing through unspoilt countryside with magnificent views along the coast.
