Designed with narrow fairways lined with young trees, the Castro Marim golf course provides challenges for any standard of golfer. The golf complex also has a driving range, putting greens, and a mini-golf course on which to practice your swing, as well as a sauna, swimming pool, tennis courts and children’s nursery if the rest of the family don’t want to join you for a round!

The Salt Marsh Natural Reserve is a huge park incorporating important areas of salt marshes and coastal habitats which are home to an astonishing variety of wildlife. Altura is a wonderful family beach resort in Castro Marim. Villas in Altura are spacious and comfortable, and there are magnificent facilities for every member of the family, including three 18 hole golf courses (within 15 minutes drive), excellent sandy beaches, plenty of water sports (including windsurfing and fishing) and a range of excellent bars.

Monte Gordo is Castro Marim’s leading resort, boasting magnificent beaches and a marina which could rival any other on the Algarve. The beach at Monte Gordo is magnificent, especially on the parts which are backed by the promenade where you can arrange almost any water sport. The nightlife here is great fun and very relaxed, but not for those looking for a serious night out.

Weather in Castro Marim, Portugal

Castro Marim villas are in high demand all year round, as annual average temperatures in the area are above 20˚C! The golf courses of Castro Marim continue to do great business, and the changing inhabitants of the Salt Marsh National Park attract visitors to witness the changing scenery. In summer, daily temperatures can reach 40˚C on occasion, meaning a Castro Marim villa with a pool is a huge asset. Even in winter. Temperatures very rarely dip below 10˚C.

Travel to Castro Marim, Portugal

Castro Marim villas are between 30 minutes and an hour from the Algarve transport hub that is Faro International Airport (FAO). Almost every ‘no frills’ airline which operates out of the UK has direct flights to Faro, and there are regular deals on for cheap flights. Upon your arrival in faro, you can either hire one of the many rental cars available, hire a fixed price taxi or take a bus to one of the larger settlements in Castro Marim, Algarve.
