Superbly located property but needs
We stayed at this property 10 years previously and found that some things had changed for the better, while some hadn`t.
The location of this Villa is excellent,Carvoeiro being just a sort walk down the hill.
The Villa has had a new kitchen fitted recently, and now has a laminate floor in the bedroom. However...the bathroom, which was badly dated during our previous stay 10 years ago, is now very poor.
There is a very outdated pink bathroom suite, the base of the bath has rusty patches on the bottom and looks very unsightly.
During our stay the local town council decided to carry out some work on the ruined property next door to the Villa, totally ruining the peace and quiet that is one of the main attractions of the place. The other big attraction of the place is the privacy, as you cannot normally be overlooked.
This was not the case during our stay however, as the men carrying out the work could easily look into the usually private area around the pool, and took every opportunity to do so.
We even had to move our sunbeds to an area where we could not be gawped at.
I contacted the Villa manager, Mario Caldeira, to see if he could find out what was going on, and it was he who found out that the town council had sanctioned the work next door.
He said he was very surprised that the work was taking place in the busy tourist period.
It has to be said that Mario was very helpful, even coming to visit us at the Villa to explain what was happening.
In no way can Mario or the booking agent Valgarve have known that this work was going to take place, and we were probably just unlucky to be in the Villa on that particular week.
It did put a bit of a dampener on our Holiday though.
In summary then...
Car not needed.
Lovely garden and pool area.
Really helpful Villa manager and booking agent.
Good quality TVs with satellite.
Bathroom in desperate need of replacement.
