Albufeira is the gateway to the Algarve, is situated on the coastline, and with access to 20 beaches. The two parts of Albufeira, the old town and the new resort, blend together perfectly. The old Town is a maze of tiny streets and whitewashed houses. Although the earthquake and associated tidal flood of Albufeira in 1755 destroyed most of the old town, there are still many buildings worth investigating whilst on Algarve holiday in Albufeira.
There are over 20 beaches on the Albufeira coastline all of different sizes and styles, so there are hideaways in rocky coves, or golden sweeping beaches adorned with volleyball pitches and sun loungers. You will undoubtedly test many of the beaches from you Albufeira apartment, and will only find your favourite in time for another Albufeira holiday! Many of them have the European blue flag accreditation for cleanliness and safety, and there are facilities available for many sports, and equipment hire.

It is certainly worth visiting, even if you decide to take a villa in Albufeira elsewhere along the coast. Sao Rafael is also on the coast, and has hidden sandy beaches, cliff walks and some of the freshest fish on the region.
With all destinations in the Algarve, seasonal variations in temperature are not nearly as pronounced as they are in the UK, and with 300 days of sunshine a year, a villa in Albufeira is good value any time you need a getaway!
Cheap flights to Albufeira are easy to find. Faro (FOA) is the nearest airport receiving flights from the UK, and they leave from Gatwick (LGW) Manchester (MAN) and Bristol (BRS) on a very regular basis.
