This is one of the very few mosques that non-Muslims are allowed to enter. Other historic buildings include the Bahia Palace and the Royal Palace of Marrakech. You will not be allowed to enter the Royal Palace, but even the exterior is quite beautiful and worth seeing. The Museum of Marrakech and the Museum of Moroccan Arts are examples of the many nearby museums. The Oasiria Water Park is one of the family-friendly options.
It is typically warm in Marrakech and the High Atlas Mountains throughout most of the year. During the summer, the average high temperatures reach into the upper 30s. During the winter the average lows are between 6° and 11° C and average highs are 18° to 22° C. During the spring the average lows are 12° to 14° C and the highs are 23° to 27° C. During the summer the average lows are 17° to 21° C and the average highs are 31° to 36° C. There is very little rain during the summer months, so you should only expect between 3 and 8 mm if you visit during this time of year. The most rain occurs during the winter with between 28 and 38 mm per month.
The closest airport to Marrakech and the High Atlas Mountains is found right in town. The Marrakech-Menara Airport (RAK) is quite well-serviced, and is only 5 km from the centre of the city. Some visitors prefer to use cabs to get around, but rental cars are available if you would prefer to have your own car.
