Close to your Loon Mountain holiday rental is the Flying Yankee attraction at Lincoln. This 1935 diesel/electric train is open for tours and visitors can see the ongoing restoration project at the Hobo Railroad. Conway is a small town with the Eastman-Lord House Museum which has limited opening from May through October. The Conway Historical Society manages the property which has 12 period rooms each recapturing a historic period from 1820 to 1945. Nearby, Franconia has a number of attractions including the Old Man of the Mountain Museum and The Frost Place, former home of poets Robert and Elinor Frost.

Winters see plenty of snowfall, especially in the mountains, with up to 100 inches and temperatures are well below freezing night and day from December to March.
