CHARMING FLAT WITH ROOF TERRACE IN HISTORIC LAKESIDE TOWN

We spent 6-nights here and loved every minute. Used it as a base for day-trips to hilltop villages in Tuscany and Umbria -- San Gimignano to Assisi. Restaurants and shops are within the walled city where apartment is located, with larger food, fuel and electronics shops within 1/2 mile; internet cafe within 150-meters (in the larger city outside the wall). The surrounding villages are famous for their ham, cheese and wine, so there is always something new to try. Mobile coverage was fine at the apartment and on the road, but sometimes spotty in the narrow streets and stone buildings of villages we visited.

We're in the "over 55" class, so the stairs were a nuisance at first, but the view from the bedroom windows and rooftop terrace were well worth it ! Being able to leave the luggage in one for a week, as opposed to daily hotel changes, made this a very enjoyable road trip. Owner has a bookcase full of brochures and tourist books in the living room, and the TV provided nightly access to news and entertainment.

We drove up from Rome (Fumicino) in about 90-minutes; Florence is about an hour north, but we were looking for small-town experiences and didn't get that far on this trip. Weather in mid-May was warm, but not hot, and we saw only 2-3 hours of bad weather all week.

We will use this apartment again !!
