The Frantoio delle Grazie accommodation is a pleasant and relaxing alternative to visit Florence outside the city itself. Guests can easily reach downtown (by car,by bicycle or by public transportations) and enjoy Tuscan countryside pleasures as well. The flat is only 5 minutes drive from the A1 highway exit “Firenze Sud”; The hill of Settignano is the natural frame for this panoramic area protected by Italian Superintendency of Cultural Heritage and Environment. Its natural surrounding is dominated by olive groves, vineyards, cypresses and oak-trees. It is only 3 Km from Florence historical city centre; nearest shopping centre is far only 1 Km.

The house: The Villa is a traditional Florentine countryside home: its structure goes back to the XVIth Century. The recent restoration has maintained its original aspect and joined the ancient character together with modern amenities. The charming Florentine atmosphere of Il Frantoio delle Grazie is revealed through the use of typical Tuscan materials as stone, terracotta tiles, beams showing and wrought iron. The interior decoration and the choice of furniture (ancient and period pieces) are in harmony with the regional taste. Every detail has been studied to let you enjoy a pleasant and elegant welcome. This is a beautiful apartment in a great location. You are within 15 mins of the centre of Florence yet you are also in the countryside - the birdsong is the loudest noise in the morning!
We found Simone very helpful with advice about places to eat and his recommendations were on the mark.
The accommodation was spotless and the pool is a great facility for a swim in the late afternoon, or just for general relaxation.
Being close to the main exit routes was also a bonus when it came to touring the Chianti and Sienna regions.
We would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful week in the Fichi Flat in October and cannot recommend it highly enough. It is very clean and comfortable and is exactly as the photo's show. It is only 5 or 6 kilometers from the fabulous city of Florence and is easily accessable by bus which we chose to do over driving as the roads and parking in Florence are very busy and difficult. We found a free car park just over a kilometer from the property and close to the bus stop which is a bonus in Italy. The grounds of these apartments are beautiful and again are just like the photo's and are very relaxing after a big day in Florence, the Chianti Hills or other fabulous medieval towns in Tuscany. Simone is very helpful and will direct you to the free car parking, bus stops, supermarkets etc and also he is handsome, charming and speaks very good english. Our only wish was that we could have stayed longer. The only down side we could see is that if you don't have a car you will have to do a lot of walking and their are not a lot of eating places in close proximity, however the supermarkets and kitchen are great.

We stayed in 2 different apartments at this delightful converted farmhouse in Summer of 2010. Both were beautifully renovated in the traditional Tuscan style. Simone (the owner) is very helpful & friendly. Excellent location for visting Firenze/Florence, yet with the feeling of still being in the countryside. A 10 minute drive to underground parking in Florence, and from there a 5-10 minute walk to historic city centre. Or take the bus. Supermarket close by.
Strongly recommended.
Also, try Osteria de' Pazzi on Via dei Lavatoi, just off Piazza S. Croce - excellent Tuscan cuisine at a reasonable price, and very friendly owner and staff.

Easy liable communication with owner. The house was shared with other guests who have their demands. Owner lives separately and was mostly seen in morning when looking after house or garden. Excellent combination of pleasant restful holiday (very quiet) and near Florence city. Very reverential renovated house, clean and proper apartment. If you like cooking there was a bit few utensils and serving dishes, remaing well equiped. Terass/Loggia most likely to be used by guests on ground floor, the rest of garden by any guest.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Il Frantoio est une maison qui a beaucoup de charmes. Ce bâtiment ancien a été rénové avec beaucoup de goût et de soins dans les détails (lampes de chevet tiffany, guéridon pour jeux d'échecs...) Notre appartement Fichi était situé à l'étage et en occupait la moitié (côté piscine).
Nombreux endroits agréables: salon extérieur, piscine et chaises longues, tables pour barbecue.
La piscine ne convient pas pour des enfants ne sachant pas nager car elle a une bonne profondeur partout.
Très propre et soigné ( extérieurs bien entretenus, piscine nettoyée chaque matin). Endroit calme et vert.
Le centre de Florence à moins d'une heure à pied puis en bus, et l'autoroute à 5 min pour rayonner dans la région, c'est pratique.
Le propriétaire et ses aides sont très gentils et en même temps discrets ce qui est très bien.
Très bon contacts par mail puis téléphone avant d'arriver.
Vous pouvez réserver en toute confiance.
