About Siobhan and Eamonn Jones

Although growing up in London, we made the long journey 'home' every summer to Donegal.

After our family out grew relatives we had the good fortune to stumble upon, or rather be directed to, the gorgeous hamlet of Mullinasole.

Why Siobhan and Eamonn Jones chose County Donegal

About 40 years ago my Uncle took my parents for a stroll up a small hill in Mullinasole. Now, he said, turn around and look at the view.

It was breathtaking !

If you were to build a house anywhere in Donegal what better place than here ... ?

What makes this house unique

When you look at the views from the living room at Arden Mhor it is easy to wonder why you ever spend any time looking at anything else.

So when you visit Arden Mhor you'll find two very lived in leather chairs gazing out of the window. One day we might move them but not yet ...

The house itself is a terrific, comfortable, modern but simple and easy to live in family holiday home.

There are no white carpets or fragile breakables to worry about.

You can leave your body boards on the back patio/yard, wash your wet-suits in the outside tap and leave your crab fishing buckets by the back door.

Then come inside and snuggle by the open fire in cosy chairs. Have some dinner, a glass of wine and read a book.

Or pop down to the Salmon Inn for a pint of Guinness and watch the sun-set over Donegal Bay.

Above all relax and enjoy yourself !

Arden Mhor is located in the quiet harbor of Mullinasole, a stunning location as part of Donegal Bay and the dramatic Atlantic coastline. The immediate vicinity is a delightful shore with a hinterland of rolling countryside. The Blue Stack Mountains provide the back drop to the beautiful view from Arden Mhor. Very close by is the gorgeous blue flag beach of Murvagh and a little further along the coast (accessible by a beautiful shore walk from Murvagh) is Rossnowlagh surf beach.

Golf: Donegal is a golfers paradise.

Donegal Murvagh is one of the longest links courses in Europe. It is beautifully situated at Murvagh surrounded by the Atlantic ocean against the back drop of the Blue Stack mountains.

Bundoran has an 18 hole championship course in a fine coastal setting. It hosts two international competitions and a summer open.

RECENT TESTIMONIAL 16 April 2007
Hi Siobhan,
Many thanks for the e-mail. The family and I probably had one of our best holidays ever! The cottage was fantastic and the weather was great. We managed to get to a good few places but also spent some great time at the cottage....my wife and I couldn't agree on which meal/pint of Guiness was the best during the week...we just finally agreed that everywhere we went the food/drink was brilliant.
In fact, we enjoyed ourselves so much we wanted to ask about booking for the summer in 2008.
Would you know now whether 2 weeks in August are free and the price? Cheers, Ian
PAST TESTIMONIALS
Hi Siobhan
We all had a fantastic time in Donegal, the house was more than perfect and a lot bigger than we imagined. It was a brilliant way to spend the New Year. I have a hunch that we will be in touch again as everyone is discussing doing it again next year. Thank you again Siobhan for all your help.
Sinead & Paul.

We have stayed in Arden Mohr on several occassions It is a comfortable housewith plenty of room for the extended family The house has spectacular views over Donegal Bay and is only a short drive to the blue flag beach of Murvagh and Donegal Town The Salmon Inn is only a short walk away so you can leave the car at home Other Donegal attractions are all within a reasonable driving distance so all in all it is a great house in a great location Would hope to have more holidays in arden mohr

Review Submitted: 02 September 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
This was a great base for a holiday in Donegal, a beautiful county. The views from the house were wonderful. it is a very peaceful setting. The house was a bit tired and could do with updating. The shower holder was broken. It was good to have the open fire for those damp August evenings! It would not be suitable for people with mobility problems. We ate in The Salmon Inn a couple of times, the food was good and great that it was only a 5 minute walk.
