Villa Majapahit: luxury ocean and golf view villa in Bali with pool, jacuzzi

We stayed at Tom's villa for a month and had an amazing time. The villa is lovely and ideally suited for up to 6 guests with the current room plan. Being in a hotel complex and large resort means you have the benefit of being able to walk to lovely restaurants and facilities, as well as having the peace of mind and security of the hotel. The villa has excellent views over the golf course and out to sea and yes you can hear the waves crashing from the villa.
The staff that are employed full time by Tom to look after you are absolutely amazing and really make the whole experience first class, nothing is ever too much trouble and they work tirelessly to ensure you have a great holiday, providing breakfast every day and anything else that we asked for.
The resort is 40 mins drive from the main beaches and restaurants in Seminyak so you have to travel to get to lively areas of Bali however as we were on holiday with young children it worked perfectly well for the evenings that we wanted to go out on our own.
If you are looking for an extremely well presented and comfortable luxury villa for a relaxing break with the added benefit of lovely staff to look after you then I would highly recommend booking. We often stay at Four Seasons resorts around the world and Tom's villa and staff compare to that kind of experience.

This was our second time to stay at this incredible house and the owner is excellent at creating an experience that will have you wanting to return. No small detail is left out and the arrival at the villa alone tells you what to expect for the rest of the stay. This is the perfect place to get away from it all and relax.

The villa is located on the Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali resort golf course (previously the Le Meridian Resort Bali) and has a stunning view of the ocean and the evening sunset. While it is some distance from the city, we think this is what adds to the allure. It is peaceful, near the ocean, relaxing and you have access to the resort and ocean via a short walk if for some reason you would like to venture away from the villa. We spent many afternoons exploring up and down the beach during low tide looking for shells . The one slight downside is the ocean nearest the villa is a little rough but by walking down the beach there are other options.

The staff go above and beyond to ensure your stay is memorable and we highly recommend paying the additional fee to have the cook prepare all of your meals. We kept mainly to Balinese food and all of our kids loved it. The banana pancakes at breakfast were a huge hit. I would not recommend trying to cook for yourself in the house due to having access to this. The grounds are immaculate and the pool is stunning with its view of the golf course and ocean. The staff can also help arrange a car and driver to take you to Ubud for shopping or rafting.

The house is large enough that it can be shared by two families without feeling cramped. It has a beautiful master suite and the downstairs living room is great to relax in. We spent most of our time outside in the bale area next to the pool. The owner is great at coordinating and ensuring that all the details and questions are covered to ensure you have an experience you will never forget.

You will not be disappointed choosing to stay at the Villa Majapahit not only for its spectacular setting and amenities but because of the welcome we received and help from the owners. On arrival (3am!) were welcomed by Made (our cook and housemaid) and her two assistants. On arrival the garden was strewn with frangipanis as were the beds – a really nice touch. The flowers appeared each night as well as any laundry we had left.. We paid a small supplement to have Made prepare the breakfast and evening meals (we didn’t really need any lunch) and so we gave her cash periodically to get the food. Made suggested most of the meals but also prepared those that we suggested – the emphasis was always on traditional fare and so we had jackfruit, banana pancake, many varieties of rice, noodles, chicken, pork, lamb and fish as well as intriguing desserts (black rice pudding, Balinese coconut cakes).
The villa has a good sized pool (with loads of chunky towels) and comfy fold-out sun-cushions and the pool view opens out onto the grand view of the 12th hole of the Pan Pacific resort (generally very quiet) with a further view 100 m away of the crashing surf of the Indian Ocean. The PPR is a 3 min stroll (you can use all facilities there too) and leads on a further 5 mins to the famous Tanah Lot temple on an island nearby.
Adjacent to our pool was a day gazebo to lounge, sip cocktails and view the ocean. The aspect was SW facing - ideal for the sun. The bedrooms were delightful with creature comforts and the master bedroom with the veranda is special with its super view of the pool, golf and ocean. All the rooms are spacious, light and airy and beautifully decorated with Balinese art and furniture with a superb emphasis on wood. Bathrooms and showers are also well appointed.
The one small drawback is the very small kitchen so I advise you choose to leave cooking aside for your holiday – more time left for fun and relaxation (including massages for most of the family at the villa).
Tom, the villa owner phoned a couple of times to ensure we had everything we wanted and promptly returned the deposit at the end of the holiday – both considerations which were much appreciated. The house staff were friendly, efficient, very polite and generally stayed in the background. They were an important part of making our holiday so special.
If you want to go to Bali and indulge in some luxury you will have a fantastic time at the Villa Majapahit.
