A Villa in a Beautiful Spot, with Fantastic Hosts

The views from this villa are truly breathtaking, and it is maintained to a very high standard. Both bedrooms are very generously proportioned, with the upstairs room in particular providing lots of space. Tim and Amanada, the owners, couldn't be more helpful. We had a stress free, comfortable transfer from the airport and were helped with organising a hire car for our stay. Basics like tea, coffee, milk, bread and water were supplied for our arrival making us feel welcome and allowing us to relax from the very beginning (even a beer was waiting for us in the fridge). They are very knowledgable about the island, and more than happy help with anything needed. Because they were on-site every day and available by telephone at other times, we were confident that no niggles could crop up that couldn't be sorted quickly and easily. We bought a paddling pool while we were there, and the following day Tim had supplied a ground sheet to set it up on. He even emptied, cleaned and refilled it for us after a blustery day when a few leaves had accumulated!
The nearest beach, Porto Caminia, was lovely. Small but well looked after and very family friendly with free sunbeds, a bar/restaurant, a selection of outdoor toys and a swing char for the children and WiFi access. Several other beaches, each with their own character, are within easy driving distance along the Vasilkos Peninsula.
The nearest restaurant, the Agnadi, was friendly and offered good quality food.
My only quibble would be with the precise location. The Google map marker on the Home and Away website when we booked was in a slightly inaccurate position. The marker gave the impression that the villa lies on the road from Xirokastello to the beach at Porto Caminia. The villa is in fact located one road further north. This does mean that rather than 'recommended' I would say that a hire car is essential if you are considering this property. You really do need your own transport even to get to the nearest restaurant or food shop. Though the distance is easily walkable, the road is far from pedestrian friendly!
That said, if you are looking for a relaxing holiday where the owners genuinely care that you enjoy your experience, with fantastic views and high quality accommodation - I can't recommend it highly enough.
