Located in Bavaria this part of the country will provide visitors with an enjoyable experience they will never forget. There are some splendid old buildings in the region steeped in history such as Bavarian castles and the Nymphenburg Palace. The warmest time to visit the Munich area is July and August when the maximum high temperature is 23 degrees centigrade. The temperature in December and January is very cold with a maximum high of 1 degree centigrade. Ironically the higher temperatures bring about the wettest weather with July having an average of 14 centimetres of rain per month.
Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC) has flights to and from many destinations across Europe and beyond. Air Berlin and Air Lufthansa service the most destinations. Flights go to major cities such as Beijing, London, Madrid, Moscow, New York, Paris, Rome and Washington. Car rental companies are located at the airport including Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National/Alamo, Sixt and Terstappen. There are also taxis located outside the terminal buildings.
