Rainfall in is fairly evenly distributed throughout the year with the wettest month of the year being August at an average of seven inches.
Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) is located on the Georgia coast and has flights to and from various U.S cities such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Newark, New York and Washington. Visitors from overseas can fly to Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and get a connecting flight to Savannah. Flights to Dallas arrive from many cities including Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and Toronto. Passengers can hire a car from the airport at either Dallas or Savannah.
