Uzes Centre. Magnificent 17th Century Listed Building

We throughly enjoyed our week in Uzes in the 2 bedroom splendid apartment. The weather was a bit chilly so it was great to have such a large, warm and welcoming place to relax in and to come home to after a day of sightseeing. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs when we wanted to cook and all the rooms had wonderful views of the rooftops of Uzes. Wi-fi worked well and the decor of the apartment is really charming.
My only suggestion would be to place a holder for the shower head on the wall over the bath so that it is easier to have a shower (we Aussies prefer showers to baths!!). That being said, we did not find it much of a problem and Shirley did offer for us to use the shower in a studio apartment which was vacant at the time, if we wanted to.
Shirley is an extremely welcoming and helpful host and took us on a walk to show us where to shop for groceries and pastries(yum!), and gave us a couple of suggestions for restaurants which we very much enjoyed. The Saturday market is an event not to be missed and the town itself is an architectural gem but also very chic. I would definitely recommend Uzes and Hotel de Rosier to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the South of France.

Uzes is a beautiful old town, with some good restaurants and an excellent Saturday market. A very good centre for exploring an interesting part of France, with the Pont du Gard, Nimes, Avignon, Aigues Mortes and the Camargue close by.
The apartment is at the top of a fascinating house in the midst of the historic centre of Uzes, and you get great views over the rooftops of the old town.
For those who like character rather than bland modernity in places where they stay it's great. The facilities promised were all there. Reasonably well-equipped, comfortable beds. With 3 or 4 staying it's fairly spacious with separate dining area, living room and kitchen, and an outside terrace - which feels very private as you're so high up. It would be rather a squeeze with 6, as the dining area really only suits 4.
Shirley the owner was very helpful in showing us where things were, and suggesting things we might like to see and do. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

We stayed 8 nights at Hotel Rosier. Shirley met us at the carpark, arranged a ticket for the duration of our stay and we were on our way for a walk around Uzes. It was chilly and cold but the perfect start to finding out about the history of village and location of the important things, such as the market place and shops. Our accommodation overlooked the Medieval Garden and the rooftops of the village. Perfect. Having a kitchen suited us as we could take advantage of the market on the Saturday and Wednesday. You really are part of history at this hotel.
