La Mazurie September 2012

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 24 September 2012 Date of Stay: September 2012
The property was perfect for our holiday. It is large and very wil presented. Surrounded by vinyards and with a pool in the private garden we didn't need to leave. Ludovic is very accomodating and helpful. Though a car is essential as it is very rural, the big supermarket is only 10 minutes drive away.
I would certainly recomend it.

Great Holiday location

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 13 May 2012 Date of Stay: May 2012
This holiday home is in a rural location but very close to a small town which is convenient for shopping/eating out.

As far as activities to do there are many within a short drive including great canoeing locations, and it's an excellent place to go cycling. It is also very close to many vineyards with two great vineyards at walking distance and many, many at a short drive or cycle.

The near bye town of St Emellion was our favourite it's about 15 miles away is very pretty had excellent shopping, loads of restaurants and wine shops and was extremely picteresque I definately recommend you go there.

As far as the house goes It was perfect! very pretty spacious and well stocked. If I was ever to own a house in France I would make it like this. Every day I found something new in the house, it was like being home away from home. The pool was great and we spent most of our time in or next to it. There was also loads of useful information in the house which found useful when planning days out.

We did not bring kids with us but I imagine if you did they'd have a great time. The Play room is stunning and there were loads of facilities for them.

As far as the service we got it was exemplary. The house was very clean and the owner was very helpful. Before we got to the house the forecast was for rain. He contacted me in advance and suggested things we could do in the local area in poor weather. In the event the weather was good but I still enjoyed visiting the places he suggested.

I am already planning to stay there again next year. 5 Stars!!

Spacious, relaxing and great for children

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 10 September 2011 Date of Stay: August 2011
This house is perfect if you have young children and a car. Absolutely everything you could wish for is already here. Cots, high chairs, bed guards, listening devices, sterilizer, cutlery and a playroom with toys! It has a lovely pool which is completely contained meaning that you can relax knowing that the children are safe and cannot access the pool area until you choose to unlock it. The house is lovely and spacious with a high standard of furnishings in a beautiful rural location. The house is set on the edge of a small village which was perfect for a very peaceful and relaxing holiday (but still close to St. Emilion, Bergarac etc). We had many of our meals overlooking the vine yards and the hills beyond. The owner Ludovic is extremely helpful and accommodating and made many great recommendations on travel routes to the house and places to visit. A lovely holiday, we didn’t want to leave.

Beautiful and spacious property

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 17 August 2011 Date of Stay: July 2011
We were a group of 3 adults and 2 young children (ages 3 & 5) staying for a week in August. The property is beautiful, spacious and homely. The pool is at the back of the property and the doors to the back access can be locked which meant we could stop the children getting out to the pool when we wanted to. This certainly helped our piece of mind as at other properties one adult has ened up constantly tailing the younger child!
The property is very clean and well stocked and the view of the vineyards just lovely. We experienced it as a gentle a quiet part of France. I would recommend this property for those wanting a relaxing time in beautiful surroundings.

Really enjoyable experience

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 27 September 2010 Date of Stay: August 2010
We loved this delightful villa the moment we drove through the front gates. It has great accommodation space which includes a large kitchen, large sitting room and a lovely, well stocked kids playroom. Our children were there for hours! The pool is a very good size and was enjoyed by kids and adults alike. The villa is well placed to explore the area and visit nearby villages such as Ste Foy La Grande, St. Emillion, which make for very good day trips. There are also smaller hamlets which you can visit by bike or indeed by foot and the supermarket is only a 5 minute drive away. From the front terrace the view is spectacular overlooking the vineyards of the Dordogne valley. We enjoyed BBQs and sampled the fantastic local wines whilst sitting on it. We even managed to buy some local produce from some nearby neighbours. We found the villa very clean and exceptionally well equipped in all areas. Probably our best stay in France yet, we will definitely come again.
