We have just returned from a fantastic 10 day trip to LGF. The apartment is a real home from home and more than comfortable. On the ground floor of the apartment is the kitchen, which is very well equipped, with a dining table with seating for 4 people. The living area has a sofa and a couple of comfy chairs. A TV, DVD player and a selection of Movies are provided should you be unlucky enough to have bad weather. The two floor to ceiling windows offer great views to the rear of the property while letting in lots of light and a smashing breeze when opened. Upstairs has 1 bedroom with double bed and en suite shower and toilet with a further 2 single beds and a house bathroom on the mezzanine floor. Everything is clean and tidy. The grounds are great as is the (cold!) swimming pool. The car park is within the grounds and is secure. The village centre is less than 5 minutes away with a good number of restaurants/bars/shops/chemist/spar etc. We particularly liked the local Bakery, Le Petit Bar, and le Carnozet (restaurant). The locals are all very friendly and appreciate any attempts at speaking french, no matter how poorly done! There is a cash point in the village which is very handy, so no need for travellers cheques or carrying large amounts of cash around. There is a market in the village on Sundays and Wednesdays. The Local wine shop has many a bargain! A steady walk to Le Croix and the Fort is worth it for the amazing views. LGF is a great base for exploring the region. There are countless small villages and beaches to visit all within easy reach. We found the beaches at Pampelonne and L'Escalet to be the best and would recommend a visit Grimaud, Gassin and Ramatuelle. St Tropez is only 40 mins away but the road there can be very busy at weekends. On the subject of roads, some can be very very narrow, winding, and with huge drops on either side but they also are very quiet so you can take it at your own pace! We took a Sat Nav and wouldn't have been without it. Booking the apartment was simple, Peter and Catherine couldn't have been more helpful. The keys arrived in plenty of time and our deposit was returned promptly. We would recommend the apartment to all except, maybe, families with small children, as the balcony on the mezzanine floor may prove worrying to some. We enjoyed our holiday so much we are about to book again for later in the year.
