Cassis is close to Marseille, an ancient Phoenician port, and Aix where music and dance festivals take place.
The Callanques, a national park, are Provencal fjords with crystal clear green water, framed by white lime stone cliffs and the deep blue of the ocean, where secret beaches await discovery. It’s easy to catch a boat from Cassis (they leave every half hour) and be dropped off in a Callanques, where it is fun to picnic, dive and sunbathe.
A renowned diving spot with Roman wrecks, preserved flora and fauna is a half hour boat trip out to sea. The Callanques is a world famous rock-climbing site. Cassis produces a famous white wine the result of a long tradition since 600 BC. Various Chateaux welcome wine lovers and offer free tasting.
The apartment is on the first floor of a residential building 5 minutes walk from both beaches and overlooking the Lighthouse on the waterfront. When the windows are open you can hear the sea in every room. Everything is easy on foot.
