Located in the chic 'Quartier Musiciens' of Nice, the spacious apartment is on the 3rd floor of a traditional, lovingly-maintained old Nicoise building, accessed by lift or stairs. The apartment is tastefully furnished with a subtle blend of antique furniture & more contemporary items which contribute to the very French-style feel of the place. There are two sets of French doors in the big lounge, with shutters which open up onto their own Juliet balconies. The apartment is bright & airy, running from the front to the back of the building ('traversant' in French) meaning the living accommodation is well ventilated in summer with a cooling flow of air. Step outside & sample many local delights, attractions & amenities: bars, cafés, restaurants, greengrocers, supermarkets, all close by. In fact everything is within walking distance - the Promenade des Anglais,beach(10 mins)and train station(5 mins)where you can travel to Monaco,Menton,Cannes etc.WiFi & SKY TV, iPod dock are available.

I truly love this apartment and it has given me an unbelievable amount of pleasure. I spend a lot of time here with my wife, family and friends and it feels very special from the moment you walk in and open the shutters. It really does make you smile and relax. The apartment is a superb base especially with the train station being so close and most things within walking distance (i.e. old town, beach, restaurants, and shops). It really is very centrally located. It has also been recently updated with the latest LCD television, some UK Sky channels, DVD player along with a selection of movies and CD

Notes

  • The rental cost includes linen/towels for two people, water, electric and gas usage.There is an additional charge of 80 Euro for cleaning and laundry costs (100€ for 3+ people).This will be left for the housekeeper on departure from the apartment.
    A 40% non refundable deposit is required when booking to reserve the dates, followed by the balance which is payable 8 weeks before your departure or payment in full if the holiday is within 8 weeks time.
    A £200 refundable security bond is also required to cover breakages/CDs/DVDs and the safe return of the keys etc.
    A cheque, bank transfer or PayPal are accepted methods of payment. Credit card payments can be made through paypal.
    Holiday periods such as Xmas,New Year and events such as the Monaco Grand Prix are normally charged out at peak rates.

Notes: There is a large bedroom with a large double (queen) size bed. The lounge has 2 new sofas of which one is a large high quality large double (queen) size bed. There is a large wicker screen to give privacy when using the sofa bed. The lounge seats 6 comfortably as well as having a large dining table which seats 6. There is also a dining kitchen. The shower room is equipped with a basin and large shower enclosure. The toilet is separate. There is plenty of hanging space for clothes, a hair-dryer, iron and board, clothes maiden, cafetiere, espresso maker and many more creature comforts. Help yourselves. The apartment now has English Television via Sky.

I couldnt recommend this place highly enough - if you want to feel like you live in the heart of Nice for a while. The apartment itself has been beautifully restored, very spacious and homely and very clean. Great little neighbourhood of local shops & restaurants and 5 minutes walk to the beach and to the train station - we enjoyed trips to Cannes & Monte Carlo during our stay which are only short train ride away. I cant say we really used the kitchen facilities as we were swayed every day by a different restaurant but it looked fully stocked in terms of equipment and cutlery etc. I loved the old fashioned lift. No negative comments to share - we would definitely stay again. Payments and deposit refund etc were all handled very quickly and professionally.

Good, but beware of some issues

This is a lovely apartment, and we enjoyed our stay, the apartment is fairly well equipped with many extra amenities, although no Espresso machine, and the bed is not great. We do however, have a few warnings. Make sure you see their nightly price is in pounds which is currently more than Euros if you are converting. The other charges are in Euros for cleaning. Check the small print for all the extra charges.
We were charged an extra 30 Euros to have someone meet us. This was the housekeeper who was already there and not finished cleaning, seemed like paying an extra 30 euros (almost 50 dollars) when she was already there and not ready for us was excessive. She did not take the time to show us how to use any of the appliances, which were not particularly intuitive. She didn't do a great job of cleaning, we found a dirty sock under the dresser. The light over the sink in the bathroom doesn't seem to have a light switch. We replaced the bulbs, but then couldn't figure out how to turn it off. Also note that the people above this flat are very noisy in the morning during weekdays.
Getting our deposit back took two weeks. We complained about the extra meet and great, but they did not offer a compromise.

We will be re-assessing the bed following your comment, as we are disappointed to hear that you didn’t find it as comfortable as the majority of our previous guests have. By European standards, it is a large double frame (wider than a UK King size) with a very good quality mattress. We ourselves appreciate how important it is to have a comfortable bed when on holiday and so have carefully selected a quality mattress.

With regards to the charges, our general booking conditions contain all the possible charges that may apply to a stay in our apartment. An individual booking form is prepared for each guest party and details the exact charges which will apply for each individual group as part of our booking process. All charges are confirmed at the point of booking. No charges are applied without confirmation at the point of booking.

We have noted your feedback with regards to your meet and greet experience with the housekeeper and also your comment on the standard of the cleaning. We typically receive favourable feedback on the standard of the meet and greet process and also the standard of housekeeping, so we will be investigating this with the housekeeper very soon to ensure that the apartment continues to be presented to our desired standard.

The bathroom light is now fully operational. The side pull switch had come undone but has now been repaired. We encourage all guests to contact us during their stay to allow us to help if difficulties are encountered.

With regards to your comments about the noise in the apartment building, there are 10 apartments within the building so some noise is inevitable.

We typically return the security deposit within 10 days of a guests departure. On this occassion there was a slight delay. Once the apartment keys were located, we sent the funds.

A truly "French" experience. My wife and I found this apartment to be wonderfully located with easy access to the train network, airport and both the Old Town of Nice and the magnificent promenade. Local shops and restaurants were plentiful and provided great service and choice. The apartment itself was very spacious and tastefully decorated - the central lift takes a little bit of getting used to but worked fine throughout our stay. After a few days the experience had us feeling like we were one of the "locals". No need for a car in this location.

Excellent apartment

This apartment is very tastefully decorated to a high standard. It is comfortable, bright and breezy. It was very clean. The location was great and we were pleasantly surprised by the size of it and how spacious it was. We would definately stay here again. Also the owners were very helpful in giving us information regarding getting around Nice and places to visit via email beforehand and face to face at our 'meet and greet' session.

A True Taste of Nice

We have just returned from Nice and can't praise this apartment to much. The interior was well presented with an authentic french ambience. The apartment was both decorated and fitted out to a high spec. It was well equipped, and mixed old and new with style. The accomodation was spotless, It was well located for the sea front train station and a reasonable walk into the old town. It was also convenient for local shops bars and restaurants. Hope to visit again sometime soon.
